- Motherwell manager Stuart Kettlewell named one change to the Steelmen side that beat St Johnstone 2-1 at Fir Park before the international break, before their return to action was spoiled as they lost 2-1 to Ross County in Dingwall.
- Aston Oxborough continued in goal behind Dan Casey, Kofi Balmer and Liam Gordon who returned from suspension. Marvin Kaleta and Steve Seddon started at right wing-back and left wing-back respectively.
- Tom Sparrow, who netted what proved the winner against Saints, accompanied Lennon Miller and Andy Halliday in midfield. Tawanda Maswanhise was late back from international duty so was sat amongst the subs, as Apostolos Stamatelopoulos lead the line.
- Hibernian manager David Gray named four changes to the Hibs team that was destroyed by Dundee in a 4-1 loss at Dens Park on Saturday, before a mental midweek match against Aberdeen on Tuesday night ended 3-3 in Edinburgh.
- Goalkeeper Jordan Smith made his first Scottish Premiership start for Hibs, replacing Josef Bursik between the sticks. Jack Iredale joined Rocky Bushiri and Warren O'Hora in the Hibees' backline at the suspended Jordan Obita's expense.
- Lewis Miller returned on the right-hand side, replacing Chris Cadden whose brother Nicky started on the left. Nectarios Triantis and Joe Newell remained in the middle of the pitch. Elie Youan and Junior Hoilett, in for Josh Campbell, looked to support lone striker Mykola Kuharevich.
