Team News

Kilmarnock
Dundee FC
  • Kilmarnock boss Derek McInnes named one changes to the Killie team that blew a two goal lead at Dens Park as they lost 3-2 to Dundee, before a 2-0 defeat to Celtic at Rugby Park before the international break.
  • Robby McCrorie continued in goal behind a defence consisting of Lewis Mayo, Joe Wright and Robbie Deas. Corrie Ndaba continued on the left hand-side, as the incoming Danny Armstrong returned on the right at Matty Kennedy's expense.
  • Brad Lyons and David Watson remained in the middle of the park, joined by Liam Donnelly who misses this match due to his sending off. Marley Watkins accompanied Kyle Vassell in the Kilmarnock attack once again at the weekend.
  • Dundee manager Tony Docherty made four changes from the Dee team that fell to a 4-1 loss to Aberdeen at Pittodrie before the international break, as they bounced back by beating Hibs at Dens Park by the same scoreline on Saturday.
  • Trevor Carson replaced Jon McCracken in goal. The incoming Billy Koumetio and Antonio Portales joined Clark Robertson in the Dee's defence as Ryan Astley and Oluwaseun Adewumi dropped out of the starting eleven.
  • Ziyad Larkeche made way for Finlay Robertson at left wing-back as Jordan McGhee continued on the right. Mo Sylla, Lyall Cameron and Josh Mulligan continued in the middle of the park with Simon Murray and Seb Palmer-Houlden in attack.

Prediction

  • Kilmarnock and Dundee meet for the third time in the Scottish Premiership this season, as a late Killie comeback at Dens was succeeded by Dundee coming from two down to beat them.
  • Kilmarnock missed out on the chance to record successive league victories at McDiarmid Park over St Johnstone since a run of three back in December 2017. Saints have picked up more victories over Killie (8) since the start of 2020/21 than any other Scottish Premiership opponent. Having beaten Dundee away from home, they'll hope to get the better of them in Ayrshire this weekend.
  • The Dee had won just one of their last 16 Scottish Premiership meetings with Hibernian, a victory in May 2022, before a wonderful weekend win saw Dundee destroy Hibs 4-1 on Saturday at teatime. But they are one of four teams to have won just once on the travels in the league so far this season, away to Motherwell at Fir Park last month so they'll want to right those wrongs here.
  • The two teams have played out two five-goal thrillers at Dens Park, with both Kilmarnock and Dundee blowing two-goal leads in those matches, so this game should have goals even if a winner is tough to call.
