- St Johnstone boss Simo Valakari named three changes to the Saints side that lost to Rangers by a sole goal at McDiarmid Park, before they picked up a point at Pittodrie in a 1-1 draw with Aberdeen last weekend.
- Josh Rae continued in goal behind a back four of Drey Wright at left-back, Kyle Cameron who replaced Bozo Mikulic, Jack Sanders and the incoming Lewis Neilson at right-back with Andre Raymond and Barry Douglas both out.
- Matt Smith took Graham Carey's place in midfield, to join Sven Sprangler and Jason Holt. Nicky Clark supported Makenzie Kirk, who fired Saints in front against Aberdeen, and Benji Kimpioka in attack.
- St Mirren manager Stephen Robinson stuck with the same Saints eleven despite defeat to Dundee United where they lost 2-0 at Tannadice, before Motherwell left it late to beat the Buddies by a sole goal last Saturday in Paisley.
- Ellery Balcombe continued in goal behind Richard Taylor, Alex Gogic and Marcus Fraser in the Buddies' unchanged back three. Elvis Bwomono continued at right wing-back and Scott Tanser remained at left wing-back.
- Killian Phillips started alongside club captain Mark O'Hara in the middle of the park. Conor McMenamin joined Greg Kiltie in support of lone striker Toyosi Olusanya once again last weekend.
