Team News

Aberdeen
Hibernian
  • Aberdeen manager Jimmy Thelin named three changes to the Dons team that Celtic snuck past 1-0 at Pittodrie in their midweek meeting, before they were held at home in a 1-1 draw with St Johnstone the weekend before last.
  • Ross Doohan continued in place of the injured Dimitar Mitov in goal. Jack Milne took Nicky Devlin's place at right-back, with James McGarry continuing at left-back. Gavin Molloy and Slobodan Rubezic were at the heart of the Dons defence.
  • Club captain Graeme Shinnie joined Sivert Nilsen in the middle of the park. Shayden Morris replaced Topi Keskinen on the right hand side, with Leighton Clarkson taking Duk's place and Jamie McGrath moving out to the left. Kevin Nisbet spearheaded the Aberdeen attack once again.
  • Hibernian manager David Gray named three changes to the Hibs team that recorded a massive 3-0 victory against Motherwell at Fir Park, before losing to Celtic in Glasgow by the same scoreline at Parkhead last Saturday.
  • Goalkeeper Jordan Smith kept his place between the sticks. Jack Iredale, Rocky Bushiri and Warren O'Hora continued in the Hibees' backline. Chris Cadden replaced the injured Lewis Miller at right wing-back, as his brother Nicky started on the left.
  • Club captain Joe Newell and Nectarios Traintis continued in midfield. Jordan Obita was sat amongst the substitutes, as experienced duo Junior Hoilett and Dwight Gayle accompanied Elie Youan in the Hibees' frontline.

Prediction

  • Aberdeen and Hibernian meet for the second time in the Scottish Premiership this season, after a mental midweek meeting between the two teams at Easter Road saw six goals in a 3-3 thriller.
  • The Dons were disappointed in their last league outing as their recent run without a win continued, held at home by basement boys St Johnstone, as Aberdeen have been victorious in just one of their last six Scottish Premiership matches. After drawing with Hibs last month, they've also drawn against fellow strugglers Saints and Hearts, aiming to get back to winning ways this weekend.
  • Hibernian head up north after ascending up the Scottish Premiership table to eighth place, before Kilmarnock's victory over the Hibees' city rivals Hearts on Sunday saw them slip to ninth. Having won two of their last three league games, either side of Celtic sweeping them aside at Parkhead, Hibs will hope that they can continue gathering momentum to pull away from a basement battle.
  • Late drama meant these two teams were inseparable in Edinburgh three weeks ago, so it wouldn't be a surprise to see Aberdeen - who are in something of a sticky spell - held at home by a recently revitalised Hibs this weekend.
