Team News

Ross County
St. Mirren
  • Ross County boss Don Cowie made two changes after the Staggies lost 3-0 in a home defeat to Rangers in Dingwall, before defeat on the road as they lost 3-1 in Edinburgh to Hibernian at Easter Road last weekend.
  • Jack Hamilton continued between the sticks. Kacper Lopata came into the Staggies' back three at Ronan Hale's expense, joining Elijah Campbell and Akil Wright. Scott Allardice moved back into midfield to join Connor Randall and Josh Nisbet.
  • James Brown took Michee Efete's place at right wing-back, with George Harmon continuing on the left hand side. Noah Chilvers was the furthest midfielder forward, in support of lone striker Alex Samuel.
  • St Mirren manager Stephen Robinson named two changes to the Saints eleven that lost late on by a sole goal to Motherwell in Paisley, before two late goals saw them leave Perth with a 3-2 victory over St Johnstone last Saturday.
  • Ellery Balcombe continued in goal behind Richard Taylor, Alex Iacovitti - who replaced the suspended Alex Gogic - and Marcus Fraser in the Buddies' backline. Elvis Bwomono and Scott Tanser remained at right and left wing-back respectively.
  • Killian Phillips started alongside club captain Mark O'Hara in the middle of the park once again. Conor McMenamin joined Greg Kiltie in support of lone striker Mikael Mandron, who replaced Toyosi Olusanya in Saints' other alteration at McDiarmid Park.

Prediction

  • Four places and six points separate Ross County in tenth and St Mirren in sixth in the Scottish Premiership, ahead of the two teams meeting in the Highlands this weekend.
  • The Staggies' away day woes continued, as they remain the only Scottish Premiership team yet to win on their travels this season, after defeat to fellow strugglers Hibernian in Edinburgh. Three quarters of Ross County's Premiership points have come in Dingwall, where only the league's top three teams have left victorious. A win this weekend would be a huge boost for their survival bid.
  • St Mirren snuck into the top half of the Scottish Premiership table, following some late drama in just their second victory on the road in the league this season, after being on the right side of a five goal thriller in Perth against St Johnstone. However, they couldn't break County down in Paisley at the start of November and picked up just one point from two Highland trips last season.
  • The last meeting between the two teams in Dingwall ended in a 1-1 draw and, considering their goalless stalemate last month, another share of the spoils here wouldn't be particularly surprising.
