- Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers made two changes as the Hoops knocked Hibernian out of the League Cup with a 3-1 win at Parkhead, before a dominant display saw them sweep St Mirren aside with a 3-0 victory in Paisley.
- Kasper Schmeichel remained behind an unchanged back four of Alistair Johnston, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Liam Scales and Greg Taylor. Reo Hatate and Callum McGregor were joined by Paulo Bernardo in midfield, with Matt O'Riley having departed the club for Brighton & Hove Albion.
- The other alteration came up front, as Nicholas Kühn made way for Adam Idah who made his first start since rejoining the club from Norwich City. Daizen Maeda moved out to the left flank, with James Forrest continuing on the right-hand side.
- Rangers boss Philippe Clement made four changes from the Gers advancing into the League Cup quarter-finals with a 2-0 win over St Johnstone at Hampden, before they blew Ross County away with a 6-0 victory at the national stadium.
- James Tavernier, John Souttar and Jefte kept their places in the Rangers back four, with Leon Balogun - who hobbled off at half-time - joining them at the previously injured Robin Propper's expense.
- Connor Barron replaced Kieran Dowell to accompany Dujon Sterling in midfield. Tom Lawrence took Mohamed Diomande's place to accompany Vaclav Cerny and Rabbi Matondo in support of Cyriel Dessers, as Danilo dropped onto the bench.
