Team News

Stoke
Plymouth
  • Mark Robins could deploy the same starting XI that interim manager Ryan Shawcross utilised against Burnley.
  • Ben Pearson, Million Manhoef and Jordan Thompson are all confirmed absentees, while left-back Eric-Junior Bocat is doubtful.
  • Interim boss Kevin Nancekivell could make one change to the side that faced Bristol City with Andre Gray replacing Ryan Hardie up top.
  • Callum Wright serves the final instalment of a three-match ban on Saturday afternoon.

Prediction

  • Mark Robins will take charge of Stoke for the first time this weekend after the Potters secured a goalless draw against an in-form Burnley side at Turf Moor on Wednesday.
  • The Staffordshire-based club have won just one of their last six home league matches but will see this fixture as the perfect opportunity to improve that record.
  • Wayne Rooney's miserable spell as Plymouth manager came to an end ahead of the New Year's Day clash with Bristol City, and interim boss Kevin Nancekivell sparked an instant reaction as the Pilgrims claimed a point late on.
  • Rooney's successor will inherit a side winless in 10 Championship matches and rooted to the bottom of the Championship table.

  • Stoke absolutely dominated 'shots' and 'possession' but could not simply put the ball in the net.

  • Cannon TSA +135

  • Stoke 2-0

  • It looks like Stoke will play an attacking 4-4-2 formation with Gallagher and Cannon up front.Under their previous manager Stoke played a 3-4-3 and it did not work.

  • @Marbella I wish they had kept Pelach on as a Number 2, I felt desperately sorry for him. He gave it 101% but his tactics were simply beyond the grasp of the Players.

  • I don't think that I am biased (I do follow Stoke City these days) but I would be really shocked if Mark Robins doesn't get a Win here. The Bet365 Stadium was rocking against Sunderland and that boost, plus the freedom to play Championship Football as opposed to Mind Football, sets up a Home Win.

  • @RichieRochdale I felt very, very careful confident about a Stoke Win---, and I put a hundred bucks on it---, :(

  • Stoke Win

  • Draw ht Plymouth ft

  • 1-2

  • New Stoke manager Mark Robins will take this as his first game in charge.Stoke will win against a shocking managerless Plymouth side.
