Team News

Norwich
Leeds
  • With key man Ashley Barnes unavailable, David Wagner faces a selection headache on Sunday afternoon.
  • Against Birmingham, Wagner opted to start Marcelino Nunez further forward with Jacob Sorensen slotting into the base of the midfield.
  • However, following a concerning display in the fixture, the Norwich manager could move Gabriel Sara inside with winger Jonathan Rowe returning to the starting XI out wide.
  • The main topic of contention in the Leeds camp surrounds the availability of attacking trio Crysencio Summerville, Patrick Bamford and Dan James.
  • The former is expected to be fit in time to start here after picking up a knock on the final day, but James is unlikely to feature until the second leg.
  • Expect Daniel Farke to make just one change to the side that faced Southampton in gameweek 46 with Archie Gray replacing Sam Byram at right-back.

Prediction

  • The 2023/24 campaign has been a whirlwind one for David Wagner. The German was nearly fired earlier in the year following a dismal start to the season, but Norwich recovered well to clinch the final playoff spot. Sunday's hosts have little to lose heading into this fixture and in Gabriel Sara and Josh Sargent, have the attacking prowess to hurt Leeds. However, questions remain about the Canaries following a three-match winless run at the end of the regular season.
  • Heading into the final six games of the season, Leeds had all of the momentum and were strong contenders for the Championship title. However, Daniel Farke's side crumbled at the final hurdle, picking up just four points from their final six league outings and ending the year six points behind second-placed Ipswich. They head into the playoffs looking to revive their strong defensive record but will take confidence from a 100% record against Norwich this year.
