Team News

Livingston
St. Johnstone
  • Livingston manager Davie Martindale named an unchanged Lions team after clinching a 2-0 victory over Ross County in West Lothian to keep their Premiership status intact, before relegation was confirmed with a 4-1 defeat to Motherwell.
  • Shamal George continued in goal behind an unchanged back four of Sean Kelly, Ayo Obileye, Mikey Devlin and Michael Nottingham. Jamie Brandon, Scott Pittman and Stephen Kelly continued in midfield at Fir Park last weekend.
  • They were joined by Jason Holt as Scott Pittman moved to the right flank. Daniel MacKay was out on the left, supporting lone striker Bruce Anderson. Tete Yengi was back on the bench following his recent suspension.
  • St Johnstone boss Craig Levein named three changes to the Saints side that lost 3-1 at home to Hibernian, before an away day defeat as they lost 1-0 to Aberdeen at Pittodrie last Saturday.
  • Andy Considine, Ryan McGowan and club captain Liam Gordon made up the back three. Drey Wright made his first start since October, replacing Fran Franczak at right wing-back, as Graham Carey moved over to the left hand side of midfield.
  • Luke Robinson is injured, so Connor Smith joined Dan Phillips and Matt Smith in the middle of the park. Nicky Clark was joined by Benjamin Kimpioka in attack, as opposed to Adama Sidibeh.

Prediction

  • The bottom two teams go toe-to-toe in Livingston, as already-relegated Livi take on a St Johnstone side looking to steer themselves to Scottish Premiership safety.
  • Livingston's winless run away from home continued, and their Scottish Premiership stay will come to an end this season, as they have won once away from home all season and are winless in 15 away matches. The Lions haven't been on a longer run without a win on their travels since August 2019, a run of 18 games, and they will pay the price with Championship football next season.
  • No Scottish Premiership team has scored fewer goals away from home than St Johnstone (9) this season, but Saints will hope to find something from somewhere to ultimately climb out of the relegation playoff place and ensure they don't join this weekend's hosts in the second tier. Yet to beat Livingston this season, having drawn all three meetings, now would be an ideal time to.
  • The lowest-scoring home team in the league takes on the lowest-scoring away team in the division, which suggests it may not be a cracker this weekend in West Lothian.
