Team News

Hearts
Rangers
  • Hearts boss Steven Naismith named five changes to the Jambos' XI that beat Dundee 3-0 at Tynecastle on Saturday, before a 2-2 draw against St Mirren in Paisley on Wednesday night in an entertaining dead rubber.
  • Frankie Kent and Toby Sibbick came in to a back three, as Stephen Kingsley dropped onto the bench, after the Jambos fielded a back four in their last game at Tynecastle against Dundee. Barrie McKay and Kenneth Vargas also made way.
  • Scott Fraser and Aidan Denholm were given a chance to impress in midfield, with Beni Baningime benched. Kyosuke Tagawa replaced Lawrence Shankland, who bagged his 30th goal of the season off the bench, to score his first league goal.
  • Rangers boss Philippe Clement named five changes to the Gers team that lost 2-1 to Celtic in Saturday lunchtime's Old Firm, before a 5-2 victory over Dundee at Ibrox where they had to bounce back from two goals down on Tuesday night.
  • Leon King made his first Scottish Premiership start of the season, as he and Ridvan Yilmaz replaced John Souttar and Borna Barisic in the Gers' back four. Nicolas Raskin took the suspended John Lundstram's place in midfield.
  • Todd Cantwell started in the middle of the park, at Tom Lawrence's expense. Dujon Sterling made way for Ross McCausland to play on the right hand side. Scott Wright came off the bench to bag a brace in midweek so could start here.

Prediction

  • Two of the top three in this season's Scottish Premiership meet on the final matchday, as Hearts and Rangers go toe-to-toe at Tynecastle on Saturday lunchtime.
  • Hearts will hope to break the 70-point barrier, but it's been a great season for the men in maroon who will finish with their highest points tally in the top tier since 2005/06. Comfortably the 'best of the rest' outside the top two in the league, the Jambos have another European campaign to look forward to and the capital club will hope to kick on after a successful season this time around.
  • For Rangers, second best is ultimately no consolation despite a remarkable run they went on after a shocking start. But the Gers won the League Cup and will hope to complete a cup double as they will play the first Old Firm Scottish Cup final since 2002 against Celtic next weekend. It's sure to be a summer of change at Ibrox, with plenty of transfer activity both in and out of the club.
  • Despite it being a solid season for Hearts, they haven't beaten Rangers in the current campaign after five previous meetings and will want to right those previous wrongs. The Jambos haven't scored in three games against the Gers but should given their absentees in defence and midfield.
