Team News

Ross County
Livingston
  • Interim Ross County boss Don Cowie named just one change to the Staggies side that lost 3-1 to Rangers at Ibrox on Wednesday night in their midweek match, before a 2-0 defeat to Dundee at Dens Park last weekend.
  • Ryan Leak and Michee Efete continued alongside Loick Ayina in the back three. Josh Reid and James Brown started at left wing-back and right wing-back respectively. Max Sheaf replaced Eli King in the middle of the park.
  • Victor Loturi sat deeper with Yan Dhanda further forward, in support of strike duo Eamonn Brophy and Simon Murray up front. The likes of Jay Henderson, Brandon Khela, Josh Sims and Jordan White all came off the bench but with no real effect.
  • Davie Martindale named four changes to the Livingston team that booked their place in the Scottish Cup quarter-final with a 3-2 comeback away to Partick Thistle, before a huge three points in a 1-0 win over St Mirren last Saturday.
  • Shamal George took Michael McGovern's place between the sticks for the Lions, keeping a rare clean sheet. Mo Sangare replaced Shaun Donnellan to start at left-back, as Livi resorted to a back four.
  • David Carson took Scott Pittman's place, to accompany Jason Holt in front of the back four. Dan MacKay made way for Andrew Shinnie to join Joel Nouble and Stephen Kelly in support of the St Mirren matchwinner Tete Yengi in attack.

Prediction

  • The bottom two teams go head-to-head in the Highlands, as Ross County host Livingston with the two teams separated by just three points in the Scottish Premiership table.
  • Ross County fell to a fourth consecutive Scottish Premiership defeat, failing to score in three of those with their only goal coming at Ibrox against Rangers. It's the first time that the Staggies have gone 10 matches without a win in Scotland's top tier since a run from July to October 2021. Should they lose this, Livingston would pull level on points with County albeit Livi will have played a game more than the hosts.
  • Livingston finally put an end to a run of 17 matches without a Scottish Premiership victory, thanks to a first league win over St Mirren in just over four years, which was the longest run of any top-tier team since Hamilton Accies went 22 without a league win from November 2010 to April 2011. It was a massive three points, particularly considering the visitors could close the gap on County with another victory here.
  • Both league meetings between the two teams have ended in a draw so far this season so, despite Livingston ending their rotten recent run last time out, a share of the spoils seems likely once again this weekend.
