Team News

Ross County
St. Mirren
  • Interim Ross County boss Don Cowie named two changes to the Staggies side that lost 2-0 to Dundee at Dens Park the weekend before last, before a huge three points in a 3-2 victory over relegation rivals Livingston on Saturday.
  • Ryan Leak and Michee Efete continued alongside Loick Ayina in the back three. Josh Reid and Teddy Jenks - who replaced James Brown - started at left wing-back and right wing-back respectively.
  • Victor Loturi and Max Sheaf continued in midfield. Yan Dhanda was absent through injury, so Jordan White joined Eamonn Brophy - who bagged a brace against Livi - and Simon Murray in attack. Josh Sims netted the winner so is pushing to start as a result.
  • Stephen Robinson named two changes to the St Mirren side that fell to a sole-goal defeat away at Livingston in the Scottish Premiership the weekend before last, before the Buddies bounced back with a 2-0 win over St Johnstone in Paisley.
  • James Bolton returned from suspension to take Charles Dunne's place and join Alex Gogic and Marcus Fraser in the Buddies' backline. Scott Tanser and Elvis Bwomono continued at left wing-back and right wing-back respectively.
  • Celtic loanee Kwon Hyeok-Kyu and Caolan Boyd-Munce remained in midfield. Greg Kiltie and Lewis Jamieson - who replaced James Scott - supported Mikael Mandron, who sealed the deal against St Johnstone on Saturday afternoon.

Prediction

  • Both Ross County and St Mirren picked up three pivotal Premiership points in their ongoing quests this season, before they meet in the Highlands on Tuesday night.
  • The Staggies were on the verge of throwing two points away in their huge basement battle with Livingston, but found a late winner to ease their fears of the dreaded drop and the possibility of Scottish Championship football next season. By no means are County safe, they could leapfrog St Johnstone if they win their game in hand on Saints, but they've created some breathing room.
  • St Mirren strengthened their hopes of a second successive top-six finish, with a routine victory over St Johnstone. Despite their strong home record, it's just the second time that the Buddies have won back-to-back games in Paisley after doing so in November and December. As Kilmarnock host Rangers, Saints could leapfrog Killie into fourth with a victory and a Gers win on Wednesday.
  • Home advantage has tended to prevail in this fixture given County won back in November in Dingwall and Saints back in December in Paisley. But given both sides will be buoyant with their weekend wins, a share of the spoils seems somewhat likely.
