Team News

St. Mirren
Dundee FC
  • Stephen Robinson named three changes to the St Mirren side that lost 1-0 to Rangers in Paisley the weekend before last, as they bounced back with a superb 3-0 victory over Hibernian at Easter Road on Saturday afternoon.
  • Marcus Fraser skippered Saints, starting alongside James Bolton and Alex Gogic, who haunted his former club with the opening goal. Caolan Boyd-Munce replaced club captain Mark O'Hara in midfield, joining Hyeok-Kyu Kwon in the middle of the park.
  • Greg Kiltie - who fired the Buddies two to the good from the penalty spot - supported James Scott and Mikael Mandron, who sealed the deal for Saints in the capital, up front. Lewis Jamieson and Jonah Ayunga dropped onto the bench.
  • Dundee boss Tony Docherty named two changes to the Dee team that settled for a share of the spoils against Aberdeen at Pittodrie last midweek in a 1-1 draw, before a second 3-2 defeat to Hearts in just eleven days - this time at Dens Park.
  • Luke McCowan was suspended for the trip up north, but came back in to face the Jambos at Mo Sylla's expense to join Malachi Boateng and Lyall Cameron - who fired Dundee back in front on Saturday afternoon - in the middle of the park.
  • Michael Mellon scored the Dee's fourth goal at Livingston the weekend before last, and he replaced Zach Robinson who netted their third up front. Amadou Bakayoko appears their first-choice striker and he got the goalscoring underway against Livi.

Prediction

  • Fifth hosts sixth as St Mirren take on Dundee, the Buddies six points clear of the Dee but having played two Scottish Premiership matches more so far this season.
  • The Buddies bounced back from back-to-back Scottish Premiership defeats with a wonderful 3-0 win at Easter Road against Hibernian, the first time they've won consecutive league games on the road since February 2022. Trailing fourth-placed Kilmarnock by a point heading into the midweek matches, hoping that Livingston can do them a favour at Rugby Park whilst winning in this one.
  • Dundee were left disappointed after blowing their lead over Hearts for the second time in a fortnight, sandwiching a positive point at Pittodrie against Aberdeen. The Dee are firmly in the hunt for a top six spot, hoping to make the most of their games in hand. A point in Paisley wouldn't be a poor result, particularly ahead of a huge Tayside derby against St Johnstone on Sunday afternoon.
  • This should be a close game given both sides' league positions, but St Mirren will fancy their chances against Dundee given both teams' results against the Edinburgh clubs at the weekend.
