- Rangers manager Philippe Clement named one change from the Gers team that progressed in the Scottish Cup thanks to a 2-0 victory over Hibernian at Easter Road, before a 1-0 defeat to Benfica saw them crash out of the Europa League.
- Cub captain James Tavernier, Connor Goldson, John Souttar and Ridvan Yilmaz made up the Gers' back four. Mohamed Diomande accompanied John Lundstram in front of the defence once again.
- Scott Wright replaced the injured Dujon Sterling on the right-hand side of midfield against the Portuguese giants. Fabio Silva continued on the left-hand side, with Cyriel Dessers chosen to lead the line up front.
- Hibs boss Nick Montgomery named two changes to the Hibernian team that drew in Dingwall thanks to a late Ross County equaliser in their 2-2 stalemate, before a routine 3-0 victory over Livingston at Easter Road in their last league game.
- Chris Cadden replaced Lewis Miller at right-back. He joined Will Fish, Rocky Bushiri and Jordan Obita in the Hibees' back four. Joe Newell and Nectarios Triantis continued in midfield.
- Dylan Levitt made way for Adam Le Fondre to start up front. The veteran forward fired Hibs in front up in the Highlands, and clinched the third goal against Livi in a first-half rout before the international break.
