- Hearts boss Steven Naismith made four changes after the Jambos squeezed past Spartans in the Scottish Cup by a 2-1 scoreline, before a crazy five-goal thriller against Dundee saw the hosts win 3-2 at Tynecastle on Tuesday night.
- Zander Clark was reinstated in goal behind an unchanged back three. Aidan Denholm and Calem Nieuwenhof - who kickstarted the comeback - replaced Jorge Grant and Alan Forrest to accompany Beni Baningime in midfield.
- Dexter Lembikisa, who made his first Hearts start and scored the equaliser, started at right wing-back. Kyosuke Tagawa and Yutaro Oda, who netted the winner, dropped onto the bench as Lawrence Shankland returned in midweek.
- Aberdeen boss Barry Robson named an unchanged Dons team after they advanced in the Scottish Cup thanks to a 2-0 win away to Clyde last Friday night, before they drew 1-1 with St Johnstone on Wednesday back on league duty.
- Kelle Roos continued in goal behind Nicky Devlin, Slobodan Rubezic, Stefan Gartenmann and Jack MacKenzie. Club captain Graeme Shinnie and Connor Barron sat in front of the unchanged back four in Perth.
- Leighton Clarkson was slightly further forward, with Jamie McGrath and Dante Polvara either side of him, supporting lone striker Bojan Miovski who netted the opener against Clyde and also St Johnstone at McDiarmid Park in midweek.
