Team News

Aberdeen
Livingston
  • Aberdeen boss Barry Robson named eight changes to the Dons team that clinched a memorable 2-0 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt at Pittodrie, before they lost the League Cup final by a sole goal to Rangers at Hampden on Sunday.
  • Only Kelle Roos, Slobodan Rubezic and Stefan Gartenmann kept their places. Richard Jensen rejoined the latter duo in the Dons defence. Jonny Hayes, Graeme Shinnie, Leighton Clarkson, Jamie McGrath and Nicky Devlin started in midfield.
  • And in attack, Bojan Miovski and Ester Sokler were given the nod up front. Out dropped Angus MacDonald, James McGarry, Dante Polvara, Connor Barron, Ryan Duncan, Shayden Morris and Duk from the starting XI on Thursday night.
  • Davie Martindale named just one change to the Livingston team after a sole goal was enough for Hibernian to leave West Lothian victorious, before the Lions were held at home by Kilmarnock in a 0-0 stalemate.
  • Ayo Obileye, Michael Nottingham and Mikey Devlin continued to make up the Lions' back three. Joel Nouble came into the starting XI, at Jamie Brandon's expense, as he joined Jason Holt, Sean Kelly and James Penrice in midfield.
  • Andrew Shinnie and Scott Pittman stayed further in front, supporting lone striker Kurtis Guthrie. Bruce Anderson came off the bench to miss a penalty, denying Livingston all three points as their recent run without a goal continued.

Prediction

  • Two of the Scottish Premiership's bottom three meet at Pittodrie, as 10th-placed Aberdeen host a Livingston team stuck at the foot of the league table.
  • The Dons were left disappointed at the weekend, narrowly missing out to Rangers in the League Cup final at Hampden Park on Sunday, as their domestic displeasure continued. However, they rounded off their European campaign with an impressive victory over Eintracht Frankfurt at Pittodrie. With no more European football to come, attention turns to salvaging their domestic season.
  • Livingston head north, hopeful of ending a woeful streak in front of goal. The Lions' last league goal was a Sean Kelly penalty on the 21st of October, in a 3-1 defeat to Kilmarnock in Ayrshire. It's been over two months since Livi last scored a league goal from open play. They would love to find the net, clinch a victory, and attempt to cut the gap on their midweek opponents with a win here.
  • Aberdeen could rise as high as eighth with a victory in this one, which should certainly be achievable against a goal-shy Livingston.
