Team News

Kilmarnock
Livingston
  • Derek McInnes named two changes to the Kilmarnock team that was held at home in a 1-1 draw with St Mirren in Ayrshire, before falling to a 3-1 defeat to league leaders Celtic at Parkhead.
  • Robbie Deas joined Joe Wright and Stuart Findlay in the Killie back three with Corrie Ndaba and Lewis Mayo at wing-back. David Watson, who scored what proved a consolation for Kilmarnock at Celtic Park, joined Brad Lyons in midfield.
  • Out dropped Kyle Magennis, who netted an unfortunate equaliser for his former club St Mirren courtesy of an own goal, and Innes Cameron as club captain Kyle Vassell started as the sole striker in Glasgow the weekend before last.
  • Davie Martindale named four changes to the Livingston team that claimed a point in Perth thanks to a 1-1 draw with St Johnstone, before they clinched a 2-0 victory over Motherwell in West Lothian prior to the international break.
  • Luiyi De Lucas took Tom Parkes' spot in the Lions' back three, joining Ayo Obileye and Sean Kelly who scored the second goal against Motherwell from the spot. Defensive duo Cristian Montaño and Mikey Devlin could be back in contention.
  • Dan Mackay, Scott Pittman and Stephen Kelly replaced Jamie Brandon, Andrew Shinnie and Mo Sangare in the five-man midfield. Joel Nouble and Bruce Anderson - who scored the opener against the Steelmen - continued in attack.

Prediction

  • Ninth-placed Kilmarnock trail Livingston in sixth spot by three points and three places in the Scottish Premiership standings heading into the weekend.
  • Killie have won just one of their eight Scottish Premiership matches so far this season, on the opening day against Rangers. Since then, their only other competitive victory was against Celtic in the Scottish League Cup. This weekend isn't necessarily a must-win for the hosts but pressure will begin to build if they don't start picking up points and move away from a basement battle soon.
  • Livingston picked up a huge league win prior to the international break, so are probably somewhat ticked off that league duty was brought to a halt. The month of September was a largely unsuccessful one given three draws and a defeat in the league alongside a League Cup exit. Having claimed their first win since August last time out, they'll hope October is a month of winning.
  • Livingston won the first three of four league meetings between the two last season. Despite Kilmarnock winning the last match the two teams played in Ayrshire, a share of the spoils seems likely this weekend.
