Team News

Celtic
Dundee FC
  • Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers made just one change to the Celts side that was held at home by St Johnstone in a 0-0 draw, before a 1-0 derby day victory against Rangers at Ibrox prior to the international break.
  • Despite confirming the signing of Liverpool loanee Nat Phillips, the Hoops went with an unchanged back four as Liam Scales and Gustaf Lagerbielke were thrown in at the deep end for the trip to Govan.
  • There was a spot on the bench for new signing Luis Palma but the only alteration saw Liel Abada start at Hyunjun Yang's expense. The Israeli joined Japanese duo Daizen Maeda and the matchwinner - Kyogo Furuhashi - in attack.
  • Dundee boss Tony Docherty also made just one change from the Dee's first victory upon their return to the Premiership where they beat Hearts 1-0 at Dens Park, before their 2-2 Tayside derby day draw against St Johnstone in Perth.
  • Ricki Lamie was handed his Dundee debut at McDiarmid Park, replacing right-back Cammy Kerr as Jordan McGhee took his spot on the right-hand side of defence. The duo accompanied left-back Owen Beck and Joe Shaughnessy at the back.
  • Luke McCowan, Finlay Robertson and Malachi Boateng continued in midfield. Scott Tiffoney and Zach Robinson were tasked with providing the width and support for lone striker Amadou Bakayoko.

Prediction

  • Celtic will be delighted to be top of the Scottish Premiership standings upon their return, while Dundee will be disappointed with the points they threw away before the international break.
  • The Hoops headed to Ibrox to take on rivals Rangers with a fairly depleted team, so to come out on top in their derby day encounter is a great result to boost their hopes of retaining the league title once again. Yes it's only four matches into the season but they've created a four-point gap on the Gers who can't afford any slip-ups, despite another three Old Firm league meetings to come.
  • Dundee were left disappointed with their derby day display before the break after racing into a two-goal lead against St Johnstone at McDiarmid Park. After surrendering a promising position, they've ultimately thrown away two points with a collapse in the final ten minutes. That being said, they'd love to come to the reigning champions' back yard and leave with a point or more here.
  • The victory at Ibrox could be a catalyst for Celtic's success this season and they host newly-promoted Dundee full of confidence after a derby day display, so could put the visitors to the sword.
