Ross County
Kilmarnock
- Derek Adams takes charge of Ross County for the third time, with his last top-flight match in charge of the Staggies being a 2-1 defeat to Dundee United in August 2014.
- Malky Mackay had made two changes to his Staggies side after a 3-0 home defeat to Celtic was succeeded by St Johnstone winning 1-0 against County in Perth, in what proved his last match in charge prior to the international break.
- Will Nightingale joined Ryan Leak and Jack Baldwin in the back three, replacing the suspended James Brown. Ben Purrington replaced George Harmon at left wing-back in the only other alteration.
- Kilmarnock manager Derek McInnes named two changes to the Killie team that clinched a 1-0 win against Motherwell at Rugby Park, before they fell to an away day defeat to Hibernian at Easter Road by the exact same scoreline.
- Stuart Findlay, Joe Wright and Lewis Mayo continued in defence, but were joined by Robbie Deas as Killie shifted to a back four. Liam Polworth replaced Matty Kennedy on the left-hand side of midfield.
- Liam Donnelly replaced Kyle Vassell so Marley Watkins was named as Killie's sole striker in Edinburgh. Despite netting the winner against Motherwell, there was no spot in the starting eleven for Innes Cameron after his first league goal of the season.
