Team News

St. Mirren
Livingston
  • Stephen Robinson named an enforced change to the St Mirren side that shared the spoils at home with Hibernian in a last-gasp 2-2 draw in Paisley, before they were battered 4-0 by Dundee at Dens Park prior to the international break.
  • Zach Hemming continued in goal behind stand-in skipper Marcus Fraser, Alex Gogic and Richard Taylor in the Buddies' defence. Ryan Strain and Scott Tanser started at right and left wing-back respectively as those five players remained unchanged.
  • The only alteration was club captain Mark O'Hara missing out through illness, as Keanu Baccus joined Caolan Boyd-Munce in midfield. Greg Kiltie and Conor McMenamin continued to support lone striker Mikael Mandron in attack.
  • Davie Martindale named five changes to the Livingston team that lost 1-0 to Dundee at Dens Park, before it became five consecutive league losses thanks to a 2-0 defeat to Rangers in West Lothian before the international break.
  • Shamal George replaced Jack Hamilton in goal. Luiyi de Lucas joined the centre back trio, alongside Mikey Devlin and Sean Kelly, at Danny Lloyd's expense. Cristian Montaño took Miles Welch-Hayes' spot at right wing-back.
  • In midfield, Mo Sangare replaced Jason Holt to join Andrew Shinnie and Scott Pittman. And in attack, Joel Nouble was joined by Bruce Anderson as opposed to Stephen Kelly.

Prediction

  • St Mirren and Livingston are looking to get over some damaging defeats prior to the international break, as the two teams meet in Paisley this weekend.
  • For Saints, defeat in Dundee was a rare bump in the road. St Mirren's only other league defeats this season have came at the hands of the division's top two, and they are unbeaten in 11 league meetings with Livingston since a 2-1 defeat in February 2020. However, the Buddies are now looking nervously over their shoulder as they aim to replicate or better last season's achievements.
  • Livingston have lost each of their last five league games, only scoring once, having failed to find the net in their last four. Not since a run of 13 consecutive losses from December 2005 to April 2006 have Livi lost more games in a row in the top tier of Scottish football. The Lions haven't won in eight league visits to Paisley, and now would be a good time to stop their rotten recent run.
  • Despite losing three of their last five Scottish Premiership games, St Mirren will want to take advantage of Livingston's recent struggles at the SMISA Stadium.
