Team News

Valencia
Real Betis
  • No changes to the Valencia injury list, Yaremchuk, Gaya and Diakhaby still out.
  • With Diego Lopez facilitated on the left side of midfield, Andre Almedia has made a perfect partner for Hugo Duro up top, scoring two in his last two games.
  • Jesus Vazquez was man of the match against Osasuna on only his third start for the team - he should keep his place.
  • Sokratis is out with a virus and will be a doubt for this weekend due to lack of match fitness, too.
  • Chimy Avila is back from suspension, but is out with a calf injury.
  • Hector Bellerin grabbed an assist against Celta but is struggling with a hamstring problem that will likely see him sidelined this weekend.

Prediction

  • Valencia are back on the sunny south coast this weekend to face a Real Betis side on Saturday. Both sides have had comfortable enough seasons, with room created to grow into well oiled sides pushing for Europe. However, this one is a vital six pointer as only two points separate these two in La Liga. Real Sociedad will be looking over their shoulders at these two in the Conference League spot.
  • The seeds of this match could be already sowed, with Valencia - the sharper of the two - unbeaten in six home games. Betis, less efficient at the Benito Villamarin this season, are without a clean sheet in seven. Willian Jose was quiet against Celta, so if Pellegrino were to shake things up in attack and provide some unpredictability for his team, they could get a good result on the road.
  • A draw is the most likely outcome here, with this one destined to be a cagey affair.
