Prediction

Despite ending pre-season with a 3-2 defeat against Aberdeen, which included them being 3-0 down at half time, there's a sense of optimism at Charlton, helped by some encouraging transfer business.
But it's performing on that pitch that ultimately matters and the Addicks desperately need to start well with poor early results in recent years leading to bottom-half finishes.
