Team News

Tottenham
Wolves
  • First-choice full-backs Pedro Porro and Destiny Udogie have both been ruled out of Saturday's clash.
  • Giovani Lo Celso is another classed as a doubt but Ryan Sessegnon and Manor Solomon miss out.
  • Son Heung-Min may replace Timo Werner in the starting XI.
  • Wolves boss Gary O'Neil will hope to have Hwang Hee-Chan available for selection here, especially with Matheus Cunha ruled out for the foreseeable future having suffered a significant hamstring injury against Brentford.

Prediction

  • Tottenham left it late to secure all the spoils against Brighton at the weekend to secure a third win in their last five. Spurs have won five on the bounce at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium heading into Saturday's welcome of Wolves.
  • Wolves are unbeaten in three on the road, and won on their last visit to London as they beat Chelsea 4-2 at Stamford Bridge. However, the absence of Matheus Cunha is a huge blow for Gary O'Neil's side.
  • Wolves have been left reeling by Cunha's injury and that will surely impact their chances of coming away from the capital with a result.

  • Porro's threat from corners missed today.

  • Hee-Chan played for 88 minutes and played very well. It's possible that reports of his injury status were somewhat exaggerated.

  • 0-1 final score

  • @footballover It was never going to stay 0-1 with the way Tottenham attack and the way Wolves counter.

  • Cunha, and Hee-Chan if unavailable, will be big misses for Wolves. Udogie and Porro are out for Tottenham so Tottenham are likely to be less dynamic in their build up. Bentancur has been off it for the last four games (e.g. uncharacteristically giving the ball away). It seems like he hasn't fully recovered from his injury so may be rotated out for Hojbjerg. However, Tottenham should still have enough at home to secure the three points. Tottenham to score via Son (penalty), Werner (scuffed shot), and Maddison (mid range shot) and Wolves to score from a late corner (see below). Tottenham 3-1 Wolves

  • @MEHJones Be more precise please

  • @neumi17 I did write that Wolves would score from a corner ;)

  • Wolves have scored 7 goals in the that 15 minutes (that includes 2 against Tottenham) when otherwise they haven't scored more than 3 in any 15 minutes period. Tottenham have conceded 11 goals in the last 15 minutes, 4 more goals than any other 15 minute period. Therefore, if past behavior is any indicator of future behavior expect Wolves to make some good chances late on and score at least one.

  • I've been writing that Tottenham could be vulnerable from corners but it's only in the last four games that other teams have seriously pressured (or even sneakily obstructed) Vicario. Romero, VdV etc. have so far not adequately responded to this issue so it's likely Wolves will get a goal from a corner.
