Team News

Tottenham
Man Utd
  • Tanguy Ndombele, Ryan Sessegnon, Rodrigo Bentancur, Bryan Gil and Fraser Forster are all absent for the hosts.
  • Cristian Romero, who scored the opener against Brentford, came off with suspected with concussion, but Tottenham did not activate a "concussion sub" and therefore don't have to follow protocol. That means Romero can play, but is a obvious doubt, and we could see Davinson Sanchez start in his place.
  • Despite that, Ange Postecoglou might name an unchanged side.
  • Manchester United have no fewer than six players absent here, including star signing Rasmus Hojlund.
  • Lisandro Martinez came off at half-time and is a doubt for this one. We should expect Victor Lindelof to partner goalscorer Raphael Varane.

Prediction

  • After a draw away to Brentford, Tottenham and Ange Postecoglou host Manchester United in their first home league game of the season.
  • They navigated their first game without the services of Harry Kane by coming from a goal behind to draw away to the Bees. They now welcome Champions League side Manchester United to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, at what might be a good time to play the Red Devils.
  • Erik ten Hag's side got off to a uninspiring win against Wolves, where they conceded many chances to a Wolves side who many have tipped for the drop following carnage at Molineux. Raphael Varane's winner was enough to get them over the line, but many have pointed out a controversial decision involving Andre Onana towards the end of the game.
  • Against a new-look Spurs side at home with the fans behind them, we might expect a tougher game for the visitors to the one they scraped at home last Monday.

  • United sluggish starters again, but why on earth do they force dribbling (Antony)instead of playing more to teammates? Mount will need much more time to get back to any form, but he also needs to get the ball from others. They need Greenwood and Hojlund back.

  • Maddison had the beating of Casemiro. Vicario did very well. Udogie, Bissouma, and Sarr were all brilliant. Nice ball from Perisic for the second and credit to Davies for being in the right place at the right time.

  • United seem worse off than last season. 2 horrid showings to start the season. Seems like some heads must roll in a moment.

  • Classic rashford

  • Tottenham still need to prove, it is just united

  • @Jaffe148 I agree. It's too early to tell if Tottenham made United look bad or United made Tottenham look good.

  • There is life after Kane -)

  • @Marbella The atmosphere in the stadium was amazing. The best it's been for over a season. You wouldn't think Tottenham had just lost their best player.

  • I think Tottenham will not socre today. :(

  • @Badtips Yeah, say Football!

  • @Badtips it's not socre, it's football!

  • COYS COYS COYS COYS COYS COYS

  • where's the lineup?

  • @baidusinazero Sorry i was wrong i used the bbc website instead.

  • @baidusinazero Click the blue eye icon to the right.

  • Maguire not even on the bench.

  • 2-2 or 2-3

  • André Onana is a clown who makes a lot of mistakes.

  • @Marbella which mistake did he make exactly.

  • Over 2.5 goals in the game.

  • A win for united.

  • it is a good time to bring back some hyper united back to the ground, tottenham with comfortable win.

  • Manchester United have several injuries and aren't quite firing so it could be a good time to play them. Tottenham showed some promising signs against Brentford but Postecoglou still has a lot of work to do. Son and Kulu aren't the most natural wingers for Ange's system and there are question marks over Vicario in goal and Richarlison up front. United will get at least one goal from a penalty or header. I suspect Manchester United will win the first half but Tottenham will win the second half and United will edge it overall. Tottenham 2-3 Manchester United.

  • 1-2

  • The last time United's keep André Onana faced Tottenham Hotspur he wasted a lot of time only to regret it later when Lucas Moura completed his hat trick just moments before the final whistle.

  • how can someone even think united can win this given the performance against wolves...

  • Perfect game for United counter attack game

  • Given all the preseason hype from the usual suspects you might be forgiven for thinking that anything less than a 3-0 win for United would be an embarrassment for them.

  • A minutes silence for SKY and various scummy tabloids who are devastated that Kane hasn't moved to Manchester United as they predicted he would almost every transfer window for 9 years.

  • @MEHJones Spamming the same comment over different games, seems like you're the one who are devastated with the departure of Kane because your team will be nowhere near top without him. It's just a small website, you don't need to beg for anyone's attention.

  • @Byakuya LOL! Do you love SKY and the tabloids or something? Two comments is hardly spamming and it was for different fixtures that few people would both be interested in. It's also not like I haven't posted other comments about other things either. I'm obviously disappointed that Kane has left but he stayed far longer than many people predicted and €100 million for a 30 year old isn't bad. Many rival fans hated the fact Kane stayed loyal to Tottenham for so long. They resent it because they know their clubs don't have any players with such loyalty. Tottenham will of course miss Kane but big players have left before (e.g. Hoddle, Waddle, Lineker, Gascoigne, Modric, Berbatov, Bale) and Tottenham have recovered or even come back stronger.

  • Rashford disaster class 2-1 Spurs

  • The usual score - Spurs 1 Man United 3

  • @Caseyyy1 1-3 has been the score only once out of the last eleven matches so you have a very strange definition of "usual".

  • VAR to ruin again @1.01

  • Not disappointed to see tottenham being underrated since kane left. It'll be entertaining with plenty of goals

  • 3-0 united (even more so if Kane goes)
