Team News

Man Utd
Man City
  • Erik ten Hag will continue to do without the likes of Lisandro Martinez and Luke Shaw for this big clash.
  • Casemiro has emerged as a doubt with an ankle injury, but should be fit to start here.
  • Scott McTominay could continue alongside the Brazilian in midfield.
  • Kevin De Bruyne is sidelined until later this year, yet is City's only confirmed injury.
  • Manuel Akanji will have to sit this one out, after being sent off against Brighton last weekend.

Prediction

  • Erik ten Hag's side have now strung together three successive victories, having previously lost two in a row.
  • United limped over the line in midweek, with Harry Maguire's header enough to seal all three points against FC Copenhagen after Andre Onana's dramatic stoppage time penalty save.
  • City look back to their former selves with Rodri back from suspension, and have got back to winning ways since the Spaniard returned against Brighton last weekend.
  • The visitors have lost their last two away matches in the Premier League, and will be keen to pick up three points here, having lost out in this fixture last season.
  • There has not been a draw in the last seven Manchester derbies, and that streak is expected to continue here, with City taking the points.

  • ETH has wasted millions on crap players. He is no better than Ole.

  • @Marbella yet, they want to sell MCT who was the best today and saved the against Brentford;)

  • @koziol.mutant I like McTominay, a youth-grown player shouldn't be sold easily anyway. But if he passed to Hojlund earlier today, he could've scored. Ten Hag said after the last game that some players were ignoring Hojlund, clear demonstration once again today. Too many individuals on this team, everyone wants to be a hero yet the end-product is zero.

  • @Byakuya yep, same was with Bruno who shot instead of pass.

  • @Byakuya Very true

  • @koziol.mutant them*

  • I wonder what excuses ETH will have after the game ? :)

  • @Marbella just not goo enough

  • @Marbella it's Ronaldo's fault of course

  • Eriksen and Rashford should have their salaries reduced for -90%.

  • Clearly an unfair penalty, no way it was a foul! I think it's a kind of divine justice for the last derby, where in Bruno scored after that distraction from Rashford who was offside.

  • @dib That was a clean goal according to rules, this is a legit pen according to rules. The difference is a position like this is happening almost every game and suddenly it's a pen when it's a big derby, they surely love being the center of the game.

  • @Byakuya NO, that was never a legit goal for Man Utd. last derby.

  • @tar88s Rules are saying yes but a random guy on the internet says no, he's using capital letters as well so he should be right.

  • @Byakuya funny, what kind of rules are you talking about?

  • : ) Pep's new tactics is to invite pressure while passing backwards to see if the team has the character to survive it...hahaha....

  • Evans starts, you cant be serious

  • 2-1 United

  • 0-3

  • @eastend1 told ya - and I don’t even gamble!

  • @eastend1 lucky you

  • @eastend1 nearly there…

  • Man City Win and over 2.5 goals in the game @ 2.50 Odds.

  • @Marbella Over 2.5k profit if this wins :)

  • City lost Newcastle and Wolves away last month, both teams were playing deep with counter-attacks. United have pacey forwards and De Bruyne is still out, they should take advantage of this game fully. Varane and Maguire only lost 2 games they started together meanwhile Onana finally regained his self-confidence, they will be motivated for another narrow win.

  • @Byakuya or draw at aleast

  • @koziol.mutant More like draw at best after seeing this line-up, should've been Varane and Reguilon over Evans and Lindelof. Eriksen is too slow to play as a CAM, those days are gone and he's a CM now. He won't be useful there, no need to play Fernandes out of position when you have 3 players who can play as a right winger. I hope he knows what he's doing, this is not a game to test different things.

  • @Byakuya have the same opinion. Lindelof can play a left-back but against lesser opposition... Evans is the same. Eriksen could be useful as a deep-lying midfielder, but he won't be Pirlo. He is really bad when Man U are not with a ball. Overall - this match proves how high quality actually Casemiro is for them

  • While this looks like away team snatching all 3 points but City are so unreliable this season as they have conceded a goal in 7 of 9 away overall matches this season. | It’s worth backing BTTS & o2.5 - 2.10

  • Almost no doubt, City win

  • @StickandMove So I should bet the mortgage.

  • 0-1 city

  • both teams have no draw so far in the league, so 2-2 ;)

  • @koziol.mutant just because they haven't had a draw? Or are you saying their strengths are currently matched because I don't see no draw here. Either side could win though but city should

  • @Everbarcafan stats-based predictions aren't good? City had narrow losses at Arsenal and Wolves and a narrow win against Brighton. Man Utd has 3 narrow wins in a row against theoretically "easy" opponents. What is more, ETH trained counters against Copenhagen, most of the time the worst version of that. I doubt he will use much of that here as if even I can see it as "the worst", he surely does the same. City struggles against pressing teams and fast attacks and at the latter Man Udt are very good. Only worry is whether Casemiro is fit to play 70-90 minutes.

  • hard to see city not winning

  • Haaland had a good season but it was not Ballon Dor worthy. A Ballon Dor striker playing for Guardiola should score 70 in the season and 90 in the calendar year. The standard set by Messi in his early 20s. Haaland had similar G+A as 35 year old Messi.

  • @ChaoticReaper Messi has only ever played in farmer leagues !

  • @Tuiop Don't give him the attention he's seeking for, seems like he copied the same comment from last week so the guy probably doesn't know what to do as a fanboy whose idol is about to retire.

  • Bet W1

  • There's actually a half decent chance this ends in a Utd win or draw

  • Both to score and more than 3 goals

  • @Boltxetips clearly a 4-4 result, with Bellingham scoring a hatrick for Unuted

  • @Caseyyy1 you know more than 3 goals can be a 2-2 right? right??

  • @Caseyyy1 Is this suppose to be a joke. HAHAHAHA

  • @Caseyyy1 what’s with the clever comments ??

  • @Fauda Lol, thanks. They are of course more stupid than clever but I'll take the compliment

  • over 2.5 goals

  • @FF2021 yeah the result will be MU 2.5 City 1.5

  • MU have scored in 5 of their last 6 meetings with MC.

  • @Marbella MU have scored 5 of their last 5 goals.

  • might be an unexpected outcome

  • @JasonZL City winning I guess you mean

  • @Caseyyy1 HE MEANS A UNITED WIN LOL

  • @Caseyyy1 City two main player's are out.

  • @DanielTobi0 oops De Bruyne isn't
