Atletico Madrid head to Saudi Arabia on the back of a good point last time out, drawing 2-2 with Villarreal away from home despite being second best for much of the clash. Angel Correa scored from the halfway line before Geoffrey Kondogbia scored the equaliser after Villarreal pulled off a comeback.
That followed a win over Rayo Vallecano and four consecutive league defeats, so Diego Simeone's men are working towards recovering their good form, though the absence of Antoine Griezmann won't help their cause.
Athletic Club come into this one on the back of a disappointing goalless draw with Alaves, drawing 0-0 despite dominating their struggling Basque rivals. The draw followed a 2-0 win over Atletico Mancha in the Copa del Rey thanks to two goals from Nico Williams.
Before that, Marcelino's men beat Osasuna 3-1 thanks to a hat-trick from Oihan Sancet, bouncing back from a narrow defeat to Real Madrid. Athletic Club are still hanging around the European places.
Athletic Club come into this one in better form and this one is a difficult one to call. It could well end up a draw in normal time.
