Prediction

  • Hopes remain high that the Black and Yellows can mount a title challenge for the first time in 10 years and despite two away defeats BVB are only a point behind leaders Bayern.
  • Star man Erling "Machine" Haaland boasts 47 goals in 48 Bundesliga games and holds the key to those title hopes in front of a potential crowd of 67,000.
  • Mainz coach Bo Svensson seems sure to follow in the footsteps of Jurgen Klopp and Thomas Tuchel, the next Super Coach to start at Mainz, and who knows - next stop could be BVB.
  • Mainz were marvellous towards the end of last season and overcame COVID-19 problems to start the season well this time around, but are without a win in three games which is likely to be extended here.
