Team News

Aston Villa
Burnley
  • Ollie Watkins started and scored against Crystal Palace on Sunday despite not being able to train heading into the game.
  • Jacob Ramsey was back in the matchday squad at the weekend and will push to reclaim his starting spot on Thursday.
  • Ezri Konsa is expected to miss Aston Villa's last two Premier League games with Calum Chambers to deputise.
  • Emi Buendia started the reverse fixture against Burnley earlier this month rather than Philippe Coutinho so we may see that change again here.
  • Burnley went to a back five against Tottenham on Sunday with James Tarkowski and Ben Mee absent.
  • Their bench against Tottenham looked extremely ropey so there may not be many changes for Jackson can make if the likes of Ben Mee, James Tarkowski and Jay Rodriguez all continue to miss out.
  • Wout Weghorst has only scored two goals in 18 league games since joining Burnley but may come into the side for Ashley Barnes at Villa Park.
  • Dale Stephens and Erik Pieters missed the defeat to Tottenham and remain doubts here.

Prediction

  • Aston Villa were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Crystal Palace on Sunday meaning it's just one defeat from their last five.
  • Back-to-back defeats for Burnley, including in the reverse fixture against Villa, has dropped the Clarets back into the relegation zone.
  • Burnley are a point behind Leeds but have a far superior goal difference so if they can get back level they have a decent chance of staying up.
  • Burnley are unbeaten on their last three trips to Villa Park but the new manager bounce of Mike Jackson seems to have worn off.

  • Aston Villa will win and over 2.5 goals.

  • Under 2.5 goals @1.90

  • P0stp0ned, its best 0ne av0ids English Leagues entirely this weekend

  • Would expect the odds to lean much heavier than they are towards Villa. Maybe Gerrard runs out some young players here. If Villa present their strongest lineup I could see a replay of the reverse fixture just less Goals from Villa in this one. 1-0 1-1. Important to note that Villa had gotten all the chances chances wanted in the reverse fixture 12 shots with 7 of them on target, I don't expect them to get the same amount of chances today.

  • Under 4.5 cards

  • I will be shocked if aston villa didn't win 2-0

  • In-form Villa are sure gonna affect the end of the season. First they'll eliminate Burnley, then Liver's legend Gerard will supermotivate his lads against Manciti which is gonna be MC's another epic fail

  • Saturday's Premier League game between Aston Villa and Burnley has been postponed after an "increased amount of positive Covid-19 test results" in the Villa squad.

  • Aston Villa 1-0 or 2-0

  • Burnley won't lose. 1-1 or 1-2

  • Home win

  • BTTS
