Team News

Wolves
Man Utd
  • John Ruddy was given a surprise start in Wednesday's 1-0 defeat to Everton and it remains to be seen whether Nuno will recall No.1 Rui Patricio on the final day.
  • Wolves will be without Raul Jimenez, Pedro Neto, Jonny and Daniel Podence for the welcome of Manchester United on Sunday.
  • Romain Saiss, Marcal, Willian Jose and Leander Dendoncker will push for recalls as Wolves finally get to end a sorry season.
  • With second place secured, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will field an entire second-string XI on the last day of the season with the Europa League final around the corner.
  • Fred and Scott McTominay came off against Fulham on Tuesday with injuries but, crucially for United, will be fine for next week's final. They aren't expected to be risked here, however.
  • Harry Maguire and Anthony Martial aren't expected to feature in either of United's last two matches but Dan James should return this weekend in some capacity.

Prediction

  • Wolves fans will be glad to see the back of this season. It's been miserable for the most part and they cannot improve on their current 12th place finish, though could drop a few positions if they lose here and results go against them elsewhere on the final day.
  • Manchester United have really stuttered their way to the finish line since qualifying for the Europa League final. They are guaranteed to finish second and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will field an entirely second string XI here with an eye on next week's final.
  • Matches between Wolves and United have generally been abysmal in recent years and there is no reason why that will change here. Adama Traore should be licking his lips at the prospect of facing the defence of United's predicted XI and if he can get the final ball right then Wolves can actually finish the campaign on a high in Nuno's final game in charge.
