Team News

Borussia Dortmund
Borussia M.Gladbach
  • English wonderboy Jude Bellingham and new signing from PSG Thomas Meunier are both pushing for Bundesliga debuts this weekend.
  • Thorgan Hazard and Marco Reus will both be keen to line up against their former club. Reus made his comeback after 223 days out with an adductor injury in the cup on Monday and scored.
  • Jadon Sancho is still a Dortmund player and expected to play every game unless he is told otherwise amid interest from Manchester United.
  • Tobias Raschl has a muscle injury, while Marcel Schmelzer is a long-term absentee after a knee operation.
  • Mateu Morey has a thigh muscle problem and Dan-Axel Zagadou has a knee injury. Nico Schulz has a calf injury.
  • Laszlo Benes and Breel Embolo both have ankle problems, while new signing Valentin Lazaro has a thigh injury.
  • Denis Zakaria and Alassane Plea are closing in on returns but this weekend may come to soon for the pair.
  • Andreas Poulsen has undergone a shoulder operation, while Julio Villalba has a muscle injury.

Prediction

  • Borussia Dortmund will need to get off to a quick start to have any chance of staying in Bayern Munich's slipstream this season.
  • This is not an easy opening game, however, as visitors Gladbach are one of the better sides in the division and a draw could be on the cards.

  • clean win for BVB over an uncomfortable adversary. just the right start of the season.

  • Sancho is so suited to BVB atm, it doesn't make sense for him to move elsewhere atm. Stay at BVB, keep growing and developing as a player, and in a couple of years even more clubs will be lined up for him

  • The money Dortmund is gonna get for selling players the next few years is gonna be insane (Sancho, Haaland, Bellingham, Reyna, Brandt), they could all go for 100 Mil+ each in the future

  • @Kendev Sancho has a contract until '23, he is not gonna be sold. Neither will be Brandt, Reyna or Bellingham. Haaland maybe ... And Brandt worth 100 mio ? :-))) Only Sancho is worth that much ...

  • @neumi17 Didnt say worth, i am just saying they are gonna go for that kind of money in todays or future market, but knowing Dortmunds negotiating tactics, they will defo go for 100Mil+ each, mark my words. Oh and about the contract of Sancho, if City is coming in next year with 150Mil for Sancho, no doubt in my mind Dortmund wouldnt accept it haha, contracts mean nothing :)

  • Borussia to win or draw

  • @uefalona Great prediction ...

  • 3-1 Dortmund win

  • I don't recall last time Gladbach get anything out of this, maybe it was during Tuchel's first season. Win for Dortmund.
