Leverkusen
Bayern
- Star man Kai Havertz will be crucial against an opponent that are desperate to prevent him moving to Premier League suitors.
- Paulinho tore an ACL in training on Tuesday and will be out for months.
- Key forward Kevin Volland has made a return from an ankle injury, but Karim Bellarabi is still struggling with a calf injury.
- Jonathan Tah has been suffering from a bad back and will be assessed nearer the game.
- Skipper Lars Bender may play alongside brother Sven in defence. Both are former 1860 Munich youngsters keen to get one over on the other side in the Bavarian capital.
- Florian Wirtz, the youngest goalscorer in the history of the Bundesliga, has impressed in his initial forays.
- Charles Aránguiz will line up in midfield, possibly alongside Julian Baumgartlinger who has overcome a knee problem, while Kerem Demirbay has been in good form too.
- Leon Bailey and Wendell are also contenders for a starting berth.
- Serge Gnabry is over a back twinge and fit to start, though Thiago underwent groin surgery and may not be risked.
- Jérôme Boateng is struggling with a hip injury, while Lucas Hernández has problems with his adductors. Both should make the squad, but the German is the first choice despite the Frenchman's lofty price tag.
- Philippe Coutinho returned as a sub last weekend after recovering from an ankle operation, but Corentin Tolisso has also had an ankle operation and is ruled out.
- Teenage striker Jann-Fiete Arp has recovered from an arm injury but will play for the reserves in the 3rd division, while Niklas Süle is back in light training again after suffering an ACL tear.
Wendell and Baumgartlinger are just Bundesliga average
Hahaha! What an assist of Neuer and goal of Lewandowski :D Only two touches :D What a shame for Leverkusen.
havertz cant do anything on big match
@axelxyz He never does much in a game, even when he scores. He is not a dribbler or creative playmaker.
@neumi17 he is a muller but disappear on big game and media overrating him like he better than de bruyne lol
Where is this FINAL game to be played ?
@nexus747 In Berlin as always in the last 35 years ...
0-3 Bayern way better, on a roll, want the treble. Leverkusen might be the biggest chokers in Europe. Certainly in Germany
sounds possible, Leverkusen should score, but once, and lose
Odds on Bayern win is 8.50 ? Seriously? Lol
@footballover Y they mixed up the teams. 8.50 for Bayer Leverkusen does sound about right
Odd so on Bayern win is 8.50 ? Seriously ? Lol
Kai playing against his future team.
@MathCatsFootball No unless you mean a very far away future.
@MathCatsFootball Probably not happening anytime soon. If they want to win titles they need consistency, especially in his position. That's not Havertz right now. Love how the rumors over the last few months claimed the 2 most notoriously stingy, cautious and well-run clubs (other one being LFC) can't wait to spend 9 figures on him.
@levn Rummenigge said they won't buy Havertz any time soon. Certainly not next year ...
