Team News

Sao Paulo
Flamengo
  • Both Leo and Reinaldo are suspended here meaning Sao Paulo could move to a back three.
  • Dani Alves returns from suspension.
  • Backup goalkeeper César is unavailable after spraining his knee in training.
  • Willian Arão made the bench against Inter, but didn't play after fracturing his toe. It will be touch and go as to whether he features here.

Prediction

  • Sao Paulo's disappointing run of form continued last time out as they suffered a shock 1-0 loss to a hopeless Botafogo side. They still need to win here in order to confirm automatic qualification to next season's Copa Libertadores group stages. They have the know-how to beating Flamengo having done so on three occasions this season, twice in the cup and once in the league.
  • Flamengo will be crowned champions for a second straight year with a victory here or if Internacional fails to beat Corinthians. Last time out, the Rio side enjoyed a 2-1 victory over Inter thanks to a second-half strike from Gabriel Barbosa. Flamengo in the league fixture earlier on in the season were embarrassed by Sao Paulo in a 4-1 rout. Rubro Negro haven't won against Sao Paulo in their last eight attempts and their last victory at Morumbi came way back in 2011. However, Sao Paulo have been awful in recent weeks and anything but an away win seems unlikely, which will be disappointing news to Internacional fans who desperately need a Tricolor victory.
