Team News

Atalanta
Sassuolo
  • José Palomino is back available from a ban but now Atalanta have lost Hans Hateboer to suspension.
  • Gianluca Mancini is expected to start in the defensive trio, while the rest of the XI picks itself.
  • Filip Djuricic is favourite to start over Khouma Babacar in the centre of the attack.
  • Jeremie Boga has become a starter for Sassuolo and should continue in the team here.

Prediction

  • Atalanta were on course to make it five straight wins in Serie A but conceded late on to Juventus and drew 1-1. Nevertheless, they start the weekend third and it's in their own hands to secure Champions League football next season.
  • Atalanta will remarkably play their final home game away from their usual ground, after electing to start redevelopment plans early in Bergamo. That only adds another level of narrative to a fascinating final weekend in Serie A.
  • That means while Atalanta are officially the home club, they will play in a neutral ground, which is usually Sassuolo's home, and very close to the town of Sassuolo. Giorgio Squinzi, Sassuolo's owner, is also an open Milan fan, so he will make sure his team will give it all to help the Rossoneri.

  • Congrats La Dea :)

  • Congrats Atalanta

  • 2-0 double by Mr Zapata to show again that he is way better goal scorer than overrated crybaby Ronaldo.

  • @stefanm Jesus Christ you are everywhere hating on Ronaldo like its a fulltime job.

  • @SirCharlesRichfield I am talkin facts. Zapata with another goal , thats my boy! While another guy is waxing his legs in Portugal

  • Sassuolo was very lucky to get a point against Roma in previous round. Roma should score at least 3 or 4 goals.

  • Good luck Atalanta, I hope you win and finish 3rd!

  • @Fromhell Me too, and I'm saying this as an Inter fan (who will hopefully not make another surprise, and win to secure the last CL spot). Atalanta are having an incredible season and totally deserve this spot, especially given their latest run (nobody would've considered them finishing even in the top 6 in December). Also, I hope this is a wake up call for Inter, who wasted a huge lead in 3rd and simply seemed to play out of inertia in the last 2-3 months. In conclusion, it's going to be interesting to see Atalanta in CL next season, but they really need to improve their squad if they want to fancy their chances, while also avoiding to underperform domestically.
