Portugal
- Jerzy Brzeczek took charge of his first two matches as Poland head coach during the last international break and drew both games 1-1.
- Against Italy in their UEFA Nations League opener, Poland left Arkadiusz Milik and Krzysztof Piatek on the bench and fielded Robert Lewandowski up front on his own.
- Lukasz Fabianski was surprisingly given the nod ahead of Juventus No.1 Wojciech Szczesny against Italy, but it remains to be seen whether that will be the case here.
- Cristiano Ronaldo has been left out of Portugal's squad for the second international break in a row.
- Gonçalo Guedes has withdrawn from the squad with a thigh injury sustained playing for Valencia this weekend.
- Andre Silva has been in great form for La Liga leaders Sevilla this season and will lead the line in Ronaldo's absence once again.
- Few changes, if any, are expected from the side that started Portugal's 1-0 win over Italy in the last international break.
How the hell Cancelo got only 6.0 rating?
2nd goal for Poland , 50%+ ball went outside of line.
@vikasjoshi9617 @vikasjoshi9617 true, at beginning of the match there also shouldn't be offside when Lewandowski was coming one on one with gk, two terrible referee mistakes.
@Alamar 2nd goal for Poland wasn't a mistake.
@vikasjoshi9617 so?
@vikasjoshi9617 Yeah Poland didn't score legal goals in this match, but it's okay, it makes the match more interesting. It would be not funny if Portugal were winning 0-3 or 0-4
@vikasjoshi9617 100% of the ball has to go outside.
Pepe should retire. He is holding development for other emerging players into national team.
What the hell Piatek.
This is amazing that until now Piątek scored in league and national cup as many goals - 13 (9 in Serie A + 4 in Cup) as Ronaldo, Messi and Salah put together! (also 13) ...playing in Genoa merely! And now he is scoreing against Portugal! A-MAZ-ING!!!
@afx He is without a doubt a skilled and clinical striker, and have had a superp start of the season. Hopefully he will be the new star for Poland, after Lewan. Lets hope he gets the chance to play for a top club in the near future. But that is some serious mental gymnastics to say he is outscoring Ronaldo Messi and Salah. Ronaldo and Salah may be tanking a bit so far this season, but not Messi. You neglect to include Messis 5 UCL goals this season, and Barca have yet to play their first Copa game of the Season. Furthermore, all 4 of Piąteks Cup goals were against Seire B side Lecce. 4 Goals in one match is a great achievement, no doubt. But come on. I think it is more impressive that he has scored in all his matches for Genoa so far this season.
@afx It was a fault on Rui Patrício by Lewandowski, so it wasn't goal, but it's okay, it keeps Poland with hope and makes it more interesting
@hellreaper If you think there was a foul, then buy glasses.
@hellreaper don't know about fault, but piatek is in good form and so does Andre silva
The best striker in the world at the moment.
Piatek hahaahah this guy xD
Piaaaatek :O
Silva will score, I just don't know which one hahaha. It's the first time I see Rafa Silva, Bernardo Silva and André Silva starting upfront at the same time xD
1:1 Piatek : A.Silva
x
Joao Cancelo for MOTM, 2-1 to Portugal.
PURE X
X2 Portugal is to strong...
@watfordAlbert how dare you people doubt watfordAlbert!!!! You da man Albert
1X Portugal without starters Ronaldo and Guedes Last time Portugal won away game was in 2017 when they beat Andorra 0-2.
@xavistu What an irrelevant stat, we played 2 away games lmao
@xavistu And so? That game was only a year ago and Portugal have only played one away game since, away to Belgium where they drew 0-0. An incredibly irrelevant comment.
@marinopeixoto Look also how many players retired or aren't playing since that draw with Belgium: CR7, Guedes, Fonte, Quaresma, Gelson, Moutinho, Manu Fernandes, Bruno Alves. New players are unexperienced, so I'd go for 1X.
@xavistu :))))))
