  • Messi is just unreal man. The guy is pretty much flawless. Great Vision. Knows where others are the second the ball touches his feet. DeLafou needs to step up his game. Vidal & Messi's chemistry reminds me of Dani Alvez. Messi's 3rd goal was a beauty. He was grabbed from both sides by 2 players and a third defender almost took him and still finished..wow

  • @delllello While nutmegging the goal keeper.

  • @delllello His only flaw is also maybe his biggest strength. He rather shoots when he also could have passed the ball to a better positioned player.Tonight Barca had 11 shots on goal and Messi had 8 alone. This season Barca has scored 17 goals of which Messi has assisted to only one .

  • @neumi17 Messi is a very unselfish player. If he thinks he can score himself it makes sense to shoot, considering he is the best player. Football is also not a video game or crowd perspective. Players don't always see teammates in a moment and sometimes focus on converting goal themselves.

  • @neumi17 I don't really think that's much of a flaw when Messi is a brilliant goalscorer while also being great at creating space to take shots. Messi's major flaw is that he's short; so you can't just cross the ball into the box and expect Messi to head it in, like how you would with Ronaldo - of course, Messi compensates his aerial weakness with his dribbling and passing skills.

  • @Pico09 Don't forget with his clinical finishing. He is a better finisher than any living thing or dead for that matter. Last night 4 goals- all of them gentle passes.

  • BOW TO LORD PAULAO PEASANTS

  • @Lulzovich really wishing that he will keep this form during all the season, if that is the case, then I will be the first one to bow because so far he has been a beast!

  • messssssi the goat

  • @Hussain Great goals and a good messi show again. On the other hand you could argue that he acts quite often rather selfishly. There were 4,5 opportunities were Messi could have passed the ball to teammates who were waiting in front of the goal totally unmarked but he always decided to shoot himself. But if he scores 4 goals it doesn´t matter that much I guess ...

  • @neumi17 Rubbish. You know nothing of football if you consider Messi a selfish player. You are complaining after he scores 4. Ridiculous. Messi is very good at making chances for team mates. This is pointless to feed players like Deulofeu who has no end product or ability to score

  • @Champion Well, Messi had zero key passes tonight. Before Suarez scored he was waiting on the left totally unmarked and ready to receive the pass from Messi to do a tap in. But Messi didn`t pass the ball to him but shot himself. The ball bounced of some defender and got to Suarez after all who put the ball in. I wasn `t taking anything away from Messis greatness but only pointing out some things I noticed. Sometimes I think because its Messi no critical comments are allowed because he has to stay flawless ...

  • @neumi17 When you score 4 goals you have done a lot right. You must calm down and re assess your analysis. No one is perfect. To play the perfect game is near impossible, but 4 goals isn't that far away.

  • Semedo is a beast !

  • @CirdomAkul amen!

  • This is so unusual of Barca: for the third consecutive game, they've conceded more shots than they've produced. Against Juventus: 9 shots for Barca and 13 for Juventis. Against Getafe: 7 shots for Barca and 13 for Getafe. And now against Eibar: 11 shots for Barca and 13 for Eibar. So, overall, Barca has produced 27 shots and conceded 39 shots in the last three games - for an average of 9 shots for Barca and 13 for their opponents. Usually, Barca produce 16 shots per game while conceding around 5 to 7 shots. Yet, in the last 3 games, they've outscored their opponents 11 to 1. Obviously Barca have been efficient with their chances, but it's not normal for them to concede so many shots and chances per game, while not producing as many shots and chances as they usually did in past seasons.

  • another comment. Neymar is currently showing that he was hungry for stardom, attention and enjoying being the main start of the team. In my opinion it is then good that he left, such personality does not fit with the values of Barcelona, where the team is always beyond any individual ambitions. Plus, now he is also clearly showing what we witness every now and then in Barcelona, but it was compensated by his good skills: he is very spoiled and cocky. We are definitely better off without that spoiled player, now it is PSG problem.

  • @GoldenBall Hi,goldenball!I am a Barca's fan from China! I really appreciate your comment. To practice my English, can we change our email address? I think we can talk about football happily!

  • @LeoHe Thanks LeoHe. English is just my third language, if you want to improve your language skills you better find a native English speaker, otherwise you will learn all my mistakes ;) enjoy the season and looking forward to reading your comments on the following matches. Greetings!

  • @GoldenBall OMG!To be honest, your English is really good!hhhhhh. Thanks for your reply,I will comment the next matches,!!!! BTW,Do you think who will win the 2017FIFA world footballman? Messi?Ronaldo or Neymar?

  • @LeoHe Thanks buddy! Hmm, that is a really tough question. I just read an article saying that Neymar is destined to be third, could not agree more with that. I am convinced that Messi had an amazing seasons, individually. Scored lots of goals, and great solo goals most of the time - not just tap ins. Also, created lots of opportunities as the usual rain maker we are used to watch. However, he did not obtain trophies at the collective level and that is the problem for the ones deciding the award. Ronaldo had a terrible season, most of his goals tap ins, just gravitated in the area like a #9 player, faced several droughts, relied heavily on team mates to score. However the last champion games he became a beast and scored lost of key goals. This is why it is hard to guess, but I do believe in the beauty of the game, sublime dribbling, amazing solo goals, the vision of the player and how to properly pull the strings of the game with through passes - basically all what Messi offers...

  • @GoldenBall Great minds think alike hhhhhhh! I also think Ronaldo`s last season is not good enough(I mean as himself)Though he has champions. His performance can not conquer all of us.So I prefer messi to win the award. What will happen in this season? We will see it.Messi has already get 9balls in La Liga.

  • Messi needs to be selfish sometimes especially when he thinks he can score himself. He sets up his teammates all day only for them to either lose the ball or squander the chance. How many chances did Luis & Neymar squander last year alone from Messi's perfect final passes. He would've had at least 20-30 extra assists last season alone.

  • @delllello exactly...if Messi was feeding these chances to himself the amount of goals scored would be obscene. If you are as good as Messi sometimes it's best to shoot himself for the benefit of the team. It's not even selfish if it's in the interests of the team mathematically. If probability wise there's more chance of Messi scoring from a shot, than Barcelona scoring from him playing in a team mate...then it makes sense to shoot for both Messi and the team .It doesn't necessarily matter if the chance would be greater for Messi himself if he himself were in the position of the team mate making the run....because the team mate has a much lower conversion rate of clear cut chances and half chances than Messi...

  • Excited to watch Messi again.

  • Click on profile of Messi. 6 MOTM in a row.

  • New football fan here and here are my two cents: Semedo is a great addition to the strength of the team! we welcome him greatly! After Alves departure, the right flank was clearly weakened. Luis E erroneously attempted to place S.Roberto in that position: even though he is a great player, specially a midfield player, he was not fit for that position, leaving the team exposed many times, and on many occasion that led to goals and perhaps we lost some important points due to that. Now with Semedo we have somewhat what Alves used to deliver there, but Semedo seems faster and stronger, in my opinion. Nevertheless, feels great to know that we are again strong on the right flank. Actually, I do believe that now the right flank is going to be our strongest side since Semedo, Ratikik, Paulinho, Messi gravitate around here...I look forward to a great season and quality football! Regarding S.Roberto, I see him more as a future replacement of our aging Iniesta. He has surely great potential!

  • This is some 2011-2012 messi stuff

  • Neymar who?

  • Messiiiiiiiiii

  • How is Deulofeu getting games? His lack of end product in his entire career is really sub standard even for a mid-table side. It's really weird he was bought back by Barcelona.

  • @Champion Do you watch the games, or you're just looking at the statistics?

  • @MessiGOAT Both. I can't stand players that flatter to deceive. They annoy the hell out of me. End product is king for attackers

  • @Champion yes you are right he sucks

  • barcelona win 3-1

  • Barcelona wins 2:0

  • Sure win for barca.

  • My starting lineup: D. Suarez Alcacer Deulofeu Paulinho Messi Rakitic Digne Umtiti Mascherano Semedo Ter Stegen

  • Don Valverde should rest some players here tbh. Semedo will probably start after missing out the Getafe game, Masche and Digne will also likely start. I would rest Busquets, he needs some deserved rest after playing almost every minute for club and country for the last 10 years. Unless Dembele's strain was anything serious, I would start Deulofeu at RW. Also, that fat f*ck Suarez need to start playing better or get benched. In my opinion we would play much better the false 9 with Deulofeu Messi and Dembele as the front line rather than Suarez at LS. Iniesta to start probably, after playing only 45 mins on Saturday. My line-up: Ter Stegen Semedo Masche Umtiti Digne Paulinho Denis Iniesta Deulofeu Messi Suarez I will predict a 4-0 or 4-1 win for Barca. Eibar has a pretty bad record against Barcelona and they got battered 3-0 against Sevilla few weeks back, should be one of the easiest games of the season for the catalans.

  • @Messidinho I think Alcacer should start ahead of Suarez to make sure Suarez gets the full recovery and maybe rest a bit so he can start playing better

  • @Messidinho You should have given a rest to Messi as well. After his hat trick he could have subed him for Suarez or anyone else. Messi plays all the games, he should get some rest.

  • paulinho. full match... wow...

  • paulinho. full match... wow...

  • Well, I'm satisfied. Messi is like a Christmas present every day. Barca weren't perfect, but if the players have to play at full-intensity all the time for every result, they're not going to make it far in any competition. Sometimes there have to be games like this where we get a good result even not playing very well because Messi magic + poor finishing from the opposition = 6-1. I THINK that's how math works....Pique needs a rest. Busquets and Iniesta, too. Did Paulinho's dummy to have Messi clear through give anyone else little Xavi feelings? Just a little?

  • Only Deulofeu is bad enough not to register an assist or goal in a 6-1 win from the wing in a 4-3-3 system. Awful trash player.

  • @Champion He is very talented, but his issue is his vision. His last touch usually is his worst enemy but hopefully he'll improve with more game time.

  • @delllello It can't be taught and looking at his career I very much doubt it will improve on it's own unless training with Messi week in week out rubs off on him eventually. I think though that You either have it or you don't (vision and ability to play the right pass and make the right decisions with composure to goal or assist). Dribbling ability for example is zero indicator of vision. Players like Deulofeu flatter to deceive as they have their head down a lot. They massively lack composure in the final third too.

  • @Champion Agreed. He was getting dispossessed running into defenders way to often! Maybe he needs to sacrifice a bit of speed when he is on the ball and work on direction and momentum change. And if you train with the best of the best, he could improve!

  • Eibar double chance

  • barcelona win 4-0

  • Goal gallore expected...

  • @Lapulga Not really so far ...

  • Barcelona win 4 - 1

  • @shakes almost

  • i hope barca go full force here. they dont take eiber lightly.

  • Hello my dear friends

  • @RovaniemiAZE hi fam

  • Don't remember the last time Barca players were running all over the pitch to this extent!! End to end!

  • Barcelona with only 2 shot after almost 40 min .....

  • @neumi17 also 2 goals lol #owned

  • @Lulzovich Very effective, 3 shots = 1 penalty + 1 goal

  • @neumi17 say what again?

  • @Lulzovich I said Barcelona was almost invisable in front of the goal in the first half and Eibar did a good job. Quite obvious, no ?

  • Rakitić hat trick incoming lads

  • @Lulzovich spot on lad

  • @groovy a Paulinho goal counts as a Raki hat trick, so right, spot on
