How to Trade in Leicester-West Ham Buabook Match Market

With Leicester seemingly just weeks away from achieving what we all would have considered mission impossible at the start of the season, the Foxes face one of their toughest tests of the remainder of the campaign with the visit of West Ham.

Slaven Bilic’s side will be desperate to bounce back from their FA Cup heartache and are still in with an outside shot of a top 4 four finish, though protecting their current Europa League berth looks the more realistic aim.

However, it’s not just the teams who have plenty to play for. You can now put your knowledge to the test by signing up to BuaBook, the first player trading market that enables you to make real money.

While there should be no shortage of entertainment at the King Power come Sunday, Buabook’s match markets give even the most tiresome games meaning, as players’ values can change with every touch of the ball. You can trade on your phone, tablet or laptop while you watch.

In a single match market, you are just trading what the player will earn in that game as opposed to the season market, wherein players’ values rise and fall throughout the campaign. With all values generated from stats, if you can predict which players will have the biggest impact on a game there’s plenty of profit to be made. Anything from an accurate passes, to fouls won and interceptions can drive a price up, while events such as losses of possession, yellow cards and goals conceded can have a negative impact.

Earlier in the week we took a look at the match market for Crystal Palace’s home clash with Everton, backing two players in particular who may be worth buying. While our tip of Romelu Lukaku to score for the second game running for the Eagles didn’t pay off, ending the game with a negative value that was bailed out to zero, our advice on Scott Dann would have paid dividends.

The Palace defender helped his side to a clean sheet to see his game earnings rise by a full £1.00, with a further 7 clearances (worth £0.02 each), 2 interceptions (£0.04 each) and one shot block (£0.05) helping his value to £1.36 by the time of the whistle. For example, had you opted to buy 10 shares in the defender at his average game earnings price ahead of kick-off of £0.43, with only 20% (£0.86) deducted from your account, a handsome profit of £0.93 per share would have secured a total profit of £9.30 at full-time. That’s over ten times your stake.

Looking ahead to West Ham’s trip to Leicester then, here are our tips of who to trade in Sunday’s match market.

The obvious suggestion would be to buy shares in Leicester defenders. The 2-0 win over Sunderland last weekend was the Foxes’ fifth consecutive clean sheet in the league, although they do face a far more potent West Ham attack this weekend. That said, the Hammers’ away form has dipped lately, winning just one of their last five matches in the league on the road, and their FA Cup exploits in midweek could take their toll.

If I were to pick one member of the Leicester backline in particular to buy in the match market it would be Christian Fuchs. The Austrian has become a key member of Ranieri’s side, not only contributing defensively with an impressive 3 interceptions per game (a repeat would be worth £0.12), but also bombing forward when possible, registering 4 assists (each worth £0.60). As a result I’d be tempted to buy shares ahead of kick-off south of £0.50.

For the visitors, I think a fair amount of fatigue may settle in given the intensity of their battle with Manchester United on Wednesday. As a result I’m cautious to tip any players that may be worth buying on Sunday, though if you are looking for an away player to shine, Manuel Lanzini’s form on the road may be of interest. With his only assist and 4 of his 6 league goals this season coming in just 8 appearances away from home, the Argentine’s statistical rating from WhoScored.com is considerably better when West Ham are on their travels (7.59 compared to 7.15 at home).

However, I’d have more confidence in tipping a sell value on Andy Carroll, who may begin to tire having only recently returned to fitness if he is handed a third start in just over a week. The target man may have been in top form against Arsenal last weekend but if there is a centre-back pairing equipped to deal with his aerial threat it may well be that of Morgan and Huth.

When also considering that over the past two seasons only two of Carroll’s 10 league goals for West Ham have come away from home, he is clearly a player who relishes the support of the Boleyn Ground fans. Failing to score will cost a striker £0.20 in the match market, so while the Englishman could win his fair share of duels with the Foxes defence (each worth £0.04, with a duel lost costing strikers £0.02), I’d be tempted to sell shares north of £0.40 this weekend.

Ahead of such an important fixture for both sides, why not make it that bit more exciting by trading in Buabook's match market. If Leicester can stretch their run of clean sheets to six matches come Sunday, there’s certainly plenty of cash to be made on home defenders as the Foxes look to wrap up the title with time to spare.
