Form Guide

Brentford claimed an impressive 2-0 win at Wolves at the weekend to open up a six-point gap between themselves and the relegation zone. The Bees are still nervously looking over their shoulder, however, having lost nine of their last 12 league matches. Thomas Frank's side are at least unbeaten in their two home Premier League meetings with Liverpool, winning this game last season.

Liverpool responded to their 3-1 loss to Arsenal last week with a 3-1 home win over Burnley. The Reds have won five of their last six and still top the Premier League but defeat at the Emirates allowed their rivals to make up ground in their pursuit of silverware. In addition, Liverpool have won only four of their last nine away league matches.

Team News

Brentford remain without no fewer than five players for the welcome of Liverpool, with Rico Henry, Bryan Mbeumo, Aaron Hickey, Kevin Schade and Josh Dasilva absent. Thomas Frank should use a three-man backline once more, with Ivan Toney and Neal Maupay continuing to forge an impressive understanding in attack.

For Liverpool, Mohamed Salah is close to a return and may feature here in some capacity to gain crucial minutes ahead of next week's Carabao Cup final meeting with Chelsea. However, Jurgen Klopp is without six players due to injury, which includes Dominik Szoboszlai and Trent Alexander-Arnold. Conor Bradley is back with the squad having returned following compassionate leave and he should deputise for Alexander-Arnold at right-back. Ibrahima Konate returns having served a ban. Alisson is also unlikely to feature here owing to a hamstring injury.

With Mohamed Salah still a doubt, Jurgen Klopp should go with the front three of Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota to lead the offensive at Brentford. The trio have been excellent in front of goal in the absence of Salah, ensuring the Egyptian's absence didn't prove detrimental in their pursuit of domestic success. With that in mind, SkyBet have priced up a tasty boost ahead of Saturday's game.
