Malaga vs Real Betis - Match Preview

Second in the form table, Malaga have won more of their last six games than Real Madrid, such is their current hot streak.

Manuel Pellegrini’s side took a point from the Bernabeu recently, but they are the only points they’ve dropped in their last six matches, and their home record is only bettered by La Liga’s ‘big two’ this season.

Visitors Betis are yet draw an away game (W4, L10), and their record reflects their attacking all-or-nothing approach on the road, happier to either pull off an upset, or be beaten trying to do so.

The hosts’ Champions League dream is really gathering pace though, and despite Betis’ away style, the Boquerones’ momentum should carry them through this clash even if the 1.67 for them to win is a bit short.

Instead, the advised bet for this game is a repeat of Malaga’s last four home games in La Liga, and that is for it to be a draw at half time, and then Malaga to prevail. Draw/Malaga on the HT/FT market is 4.33 and represents a big value shot on the south coast of Spain.

Catania vs Milan - Match Preview

It’s perhaps surprising that Milan are asked to play the first Serie A fixture of the weekend after hosting Barcelona in Wednesday’s Champions League game, but that they are, and they visit Catania on Saturday afternoon.

Their hosts will be looking to take advantage of any tiredness after an all-action display against Guardiola’s men, and the Elephants form is something that Massimiliano Allegri should be worried about.

Third in the form table and unbeaten in seven, Catania have surprised people who said that their season would take a downward turn in the wake of Maxi Lopez’ departure for the San Siro in January.

Milan’s away record is formidable though, and they’ve won seven of their last eight games on the road in Serie A, making 2.1 fairly good value. Unfortunately, this result seems just too hard to pick, so instead we look towards the goals markets.

Neither the overs nor the unders have any strong statistical backing, instead, we look to the Rossoneri’s record of having scored at least two goals in nine of their last ten away games. Locate the ‘Team Total Goals’ market on Bet365 and back Milan at 2.2 to get over 1.5.

If you fancy Catania’s chances - and considering they’ve won their last four at home, 3.5 isn’t a bad price – then consider Francesco Lodi as a goalscorer. The defensive midfielder is blessed with remarkable technique, and his set piece ability has brought him eight goals so far this season, he’s 4.33 to add to that anytime, and 11.00 to grab the first goal.

QPR vs Arsenal - Match Preview

Professional contrarian Joey Barton may return for QPR, but it will take more than just a five-man midfield to give the West Londoners a chance against Arsene Wenger’s side.

Mark Hughes is missing one of his most potent goal threats with maniacal frontman Djibril Cissé suspended once more, and is still without QPR’s best player in Alejandro Faurlin. This won’t make it an easy task, although the Welshman will be boosted by the fact that both of his wins as Hoops boss have come at home.

The WhoScored statistical comparison shows that Arsenal have the favourable stats in every department, and on the back of seven wins in a row, they’re unsurprisingly 1.57 favourites.

This seems a bit too short, and instead it may be worth looking at them to be leading at both half time and full time, priced at 2.38. QPR have lost four of their last six Premier League games having trailed at the break, lending further support to a far better price than the straight win.

With over 2.5 goals in six of Arsenal’s last seven Premier League games, 1.73 doesn’t seem a bad price, and neither does Arsenal to score in both halves at 2.2 or to win both halves at 3.75.

Basically, Arsenal should be able to win this, scoring two or three in the process, and, of course, if they’re doing that then Robin van Persie will be in and around the goals. He is 4.00 to bag two or more, and send Mark Hughes’ relegation train into full speed.
