Record breaking Man City ace the top performer to round off 2019/20

 

In a day of highs and lows for the Premier League, Manchester United and Chelsea secured the necessary results to secure a top-four finish, while Watford and Bournemouth were relegated after Aston Villa played out a 1-1 draw at West Ham. 

 

Here we run through the star men from the final day of the 2019/20 Premier League season... 

 

Arsenal 3-2 Watford: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang 

 

The Arsenal captain bagged a first half brace, and provided the assist for Kieran Tierney's goal, in their 3-2 win over Watford, from respective returns of four shots and one key pass to yield a WhoScored rating of 8.86. 

 

Burnley 1-2 Brighton: Tariq Lamptey 

 

Capped a fine breakthrough campaign with a man of the match display at Burnley. Made three interceptions and one tackle, and completed three dribbles, to help garner a WhoScored rating of 7.67. 

 

Chelsea 2-0 Wolves: Mason Mount 

 

Earned his second man of the match award from his last three outings with a star man display at Stamford Bridge. Put Chelsea ahead in first half injury time before turning provider for Olivier Giroud on the stroke of half time to return a WhoScored rating of 8.32 

 

Crystal Palace 1-1 Tottenham: Giovani Lo Celso 

 

Registered his second Premier League assist of the season, providing for Harry Kane early in the first half, to return a WhoScored rating of 7.82. That came from three key passes, while one dribble contributed to his star man award. 

 

Everton 1-3 Bournemouth: Diego Rico 

 

Put in a man of the match showing in Bournemouth's 3-1 win at Everton, but it wasn't enough to secure the Cherries' top-flight safety. Three key passes yielded one assist to contribute towards a WhoScored rating of 8.43.

Leicester 0-2 Manchester United: Aaron Wan-Bissaka 

 

Solid from right-back as he made five tackles and two interceptions in a clean sheet attaining display that helped Manchester United to a top-four finish. Did enough to secure the man of the match award with a WhoScored rating of 7.64. 

 

Manchester City 5-0 Norwich: Kevin De Bruyne 

 

Ended the season with a perfect WhoScored 10 rating as he scored two and assisted one on the final day of the campaign, matching Theirry Henry's 20-assist haul from 2002/03. Should have had more than his one assist having made a whopping 10 key passes, a record in a Premier League match this season. 

 

Newcastle 1-3 Liverpool: Virgil van Dijk 

 

Scored the goal that drew Liverpool level at St. James' Park, his fifth Premier League goal of the season, and was solid at the back, winning six aerial duels and returning a 92.7% pass success rate to contribute towards a WhoScored rating of 8.02. 

 

Southampton 3-1 Sheffield United: Che Adams 

 

Doubled his goal tally on the final day of the season with a brace in Southampton's 3-1 win over Sheffield United. While it wasn't a 2019/20 campaign to remember, will take confidence from his strong end to the season having garnered a WhoScored rating of 8.39. 

 

West Ham 1-1 Aston Villa: Jack Grealish 

 

Scored the goal that effectively sealed Aston Villa's safety with six minutes of action to play at the London Stadium. Hit the back of the net with one of four shots, while one dribble and one key pass saw him pick up the star man award with a WhoScored rating of 7.30.
