Yahoo! Fantasy Football: Manchester United star to start with a bang

The new Premier League campaign is now just over 24 hours away and we are delighted to confirm we have continued last season’s partnership with Yahoo! Fantasy Football. Before running through out first XI of the new season, make sure you enter the WS50 promo code when you deposit at least £5 and you will be rewarded with a £50 bonus that can be used with any cash games! There is some serious money to be made on Yahoo! Fantasy Football so don’t miss out.

Goalkeeper  - JORDAN PICKFORD

Expectations are high at Goodison Park this summer following a summer of huge investment. In Jordan Pickford, Everton have signed a goalkeeper that made the second most saves in the Premier League last season (135) and one that will surely be England's next No.1 for years to come.

Pickford won't spend so much of this season picking the ball out from the goal, and should be a household name in your Yahoo! Fantasy Football teams this season.

Defender – MATTEO DARMIAN

After being picked for the UEFA Super Cup against Real Madrid, Jose Mourinho all but confirmed Matteo Darmian will be his first choice left-back, at least until Luke Shaw is fit and singing from the same hymn-sheet.

No team kept more clean sheets in the Premier League last season than United (17) and it's worth trying to get at least one of Mourinho's defenders in your team as often as possible. Darmian is cheap and will free up money for upgrades elsewhere in the team.

Defender – JAKE STEPHENS

Southampton's summer has been dominated by talk of Virgil van Dijk. Will they sell him or won't they? He looks to have played his final game for the club, which means Jake Stephens will be looking to make himself a first team regular for Southampton this season, at least until they sign competition for him and Maya Yoshida.

Stephens impressed when called upon last season and should be confident of making a good start this season when Southampton entertain a Swansea side that looks short in attack given the surrounding talk of Gylfi Sigurdsson's potential exit and Fernando Llorente's injury. Southampton kept 14 clean sheets last season and should kick off their campaign with another here.

Defender – MASON HOLGATE

While Everton have gone big in the transfer window this summer, there will still be opportunities for some of their younger players. With Seamus Coleman ruled out for some time, Mason Holgate has the chance to really assert himself as a first team regular this season. Like Darmian, he's a cheap defender in a team that will keep a lot of clean sheets.

Midfielder  - LEROY SANE

Pep Guardiola is spoilt for choice when it comes to attacking talent this season and there are suggestions he still wants to add Alexis Sanchez to that pool. Nevertheless, in Leroy Sane, City have one of the most exciting young talents in the division.

The Germany international starts the season as one of Yahoo!’s top-20 ranked players from the end of the last campaign and you have to feel for Brighton this weekend. They couldn’t have asked for a tougher examination on their Premier League debut than the reception of league favourite’s City. It could be a long night for the Seagulls.

Midfielder – CESC FABREGAS

Antonio Conte has told Cesc Fabregas he was wrong to push him to the side at the start of last season, which suggests at a more prominent role this time around. With options few and far between on Saturday, Fabregas is a guaranteed starter as Chelsea look to extend their formidable recent record on the opening weekend of the season.

Chelsea have not lost a single game on the opening weekend of a new campaign over the last 10 years and will host a Burnley side that do not look ready for Saturday. The 30-year-old registered 12 assists in the league last season despite only making 13 starts and he has the tools to cause chaos this weekend.

Midfielder – DAVY KLAASSEN

Like Pickford, Davy Klaassen is another player Everton have spent big on this summer. While it might take the Dutchman longer to gel with his new team-mates at Goodison Park, he is an exciting addition that will provide a goal threat from midfield.

Not only have only three players created the most chances from open play in the last two Eredivisie campaigns than Klaassen (97), but he also weighed in with 27 goals in that time. Stoke will need to keep their eye on the 24-year-old.

Midfielder – HENRIKH MKHITARYAN

The Armenia international has promised only to get better for Manchester United after enduring a mixed debut campaign for the club last season and the initial impressions have been good in pre-season. Mkhitaryan has looked sharp, oozed class and should really benefit from a striker like Romelu Lukaku burying all the chances he will create.

Jose Mourinho appears to have changed formation to a 3-5-1-1, which will only benefit Mkhitaryan, given the chance to operate behind Lukaku and with the security of two defensive midfielders behind him. He is also a Yahoo! Fantasy Football top-20 form player and you have to take advantage of that when you can.

Utility – WILLIAN

With Eden Hazard sidelined for the first few games of the season, Willian will have the chance to put a mark on the team just like he did in the 2015/16 season.

The Brazil international enjoyed his most prolific league campaign last season (eight goals scored) despite the fact he only started 15 games. Given a more prominent role under Conte this season, you would back the 29-year-old to be even better this time around.

Forward – ROMELU LUKAKU

United hi-jacked Chelsea’s bid for Romelu Lukaku and now there will be microscopic attention on the Belgian’s head. The pressure to start life at Old Trafford will be huge and he couldn’t have wished for a better opponent to kick off his career with United than West Ham.

In fact, Lukaku has scored more goals against West Ham (9) than any other team in his entire career and Mourinho will hope from more of the same from his No.9 as United bid to kick off their season on the right note.

Forward – TAMMY ABRAHAM

Tammy Abraham was a revelation for Bristol City in the Championship last season and now he will have the chance to prove himself in the Premier League after securing a loan move from Chelsea to Swansea. With Fernando Llorente sidelined for the first few games of the season, Abraham will be slung straight into the team and tasked with getting Paul Clement’s side off to a better start than they managed last season.

He finished last season as the highest scoring teenager in a single Championship campaign (23 goals) and it will be exciting to see how he fares in the Premier League.
