Bundesliga and Serie A sides dominate latest top team form rankings

While the Premier League may have been on a break due to FA Cup action the remaining top leagues in Europe were in action, with some significant movements in this week’s team form rankings as a result.

10) Bayern Munich - 7.02

Climbing back onto the leaderboard and very much back into the Bundesliga title race this week are reigning champions Bayern, whose comeback win at Augsburg was a ninth win in 10 league matches.

9) AC Milan - 7.03

Another newcomer to the top ten this week, AC Milan have begun the year in strong form in Serie A, dropping just four points from the last 18 available with respectable draws against Napoli and Roma. Their win over Atalanta on Saturday has seen them replace their hosts on the leaderboard, with January signing Krzysztof Piatek the star once more.

8) Burnley - 7.04

Up two places despite not playing this weekend, Burnley profited from Atalanta’s aforementioned downfall as well as Real Madrid’s shock defeat to Girona to leapfrog both sides in the table.

7) RB Leipzig - 7.05

Down two places this week despite a win over Stuttgart, Leipzig remain well placed but weren’t at their best on Saturday, completing only 71 per cent of their passes and mustering just eight attempts.

6) Borussia Dortmund - 7.07

The Bundesliga leaders keep their place in the top ten but are certainly wobbling at the top of Germany’s top-flight following a third successive draw. Having won their three league games previously Lucien Favre’s side are safe for this week but now badly need a result against in-form Leverkusen.

5) Paris Saint-Germain - 7.07

Dropping two places this week, Paris Saint-Germain remain well out in front in Ligue 1 but their performances and margins of victory haven’t been wholly convincing at times. Their 1-0 win at Saint-Etienne was a second in succession following their sole defeat of the season at Lyon.

4) Roma - 7.08

After a fifth win in seven league games Roma retain their spot in fourth from last week having gone unbeaten in Serie A since the winter break.

3) Bayer Leverkusen - 7.16

B04 continue to make impressive strides under new coach Peter Bosz, winning for a fourth consecutive league game in extremely convincing fashion against Fortuna Dusseldorf, making them the Bundesliga’s form team ahead of a meeting with league leaders Borussia Dortmund.

2) Juventus - 7.17

This week’s biggest climbers, rising from seventh to second, Juventus are back on song following consecutive 3-0 wins to bounce back from their draw against Parma. The Old Lady have now scored 16 goals across their last six league matches as they prepare to relaunch their Champions League campaign.

1) Manchester City - 7.26

Keeping hold of pole position quite comfortably for the time being, Manchester City weren’t in league action, so their 6-0 rout over Chelsea means no team has come close to challenging this week.
