Still undecided which footballers to invest your money in? Football INDEX even provide you with a handy tool to help you make informed decisions. Share prices aren’t just determined by performances, but also their media attention. Every day, Football INDEX highlight the five biggest market movers over a 24-hour period, which can be located on the home page of Football INDEX.

1. ALEJANDRO GRIMALDO (BENFICA)

Napoli have reportedly agreed a deal with Benfica to sign highly-rated Alejandro Grimaldo and that has triggered a 35.43% increase in his Football INDEX share price in the last day.

The Serie A giants need to sign a new left-back this month after losing Faouzi Ghoulam for the remainder of the season back in November and Grimaldo certainly fits the bill.

With that in mind, it would be worth investing in Grimaldo as he would go straight into the Napoli starting XI for the second half of the season and his share price would only increase further.

2. ANTONIO RÜDIGER (CHELSEA)

After scoring in Saturday’s 5-0 demolition of Stoke, Antonio Rudiger’s share price on Football INDEX has increased 18.39% in the last 24 hours.

The Germany international has benefited from the busy festive period with a greater run in the starting XI and that should continue in the near future as Chelsea pack in four games in the space of 10 days, including two games against Arsenal.

However, it’s difficult to imagine Rudiger’s price increasing much more even if he continues starting games for Antonio Conte’s side. Having only netted twice this season, he isn’t likely to be a top performer on Football INDEX and it might be safer to swerve the defender if you haven’t already got ahead of the curve on him.

3. JESSE LINGARD (MANCHESTER UNITED)

The 24-year-old’s purple patch in form continued on Monday after he netted his seventh goal in nine matches to help Manchester United beat Everton 2-0.

Jesse Lingard has quickly established himself as a key player for Jose Mourinho in a short space of time and that is reflected by a 17.08% increase in his Football INDEX share price in the last day.

The England international was trading as low as £0.50 a share in 2017, but is now worth £1.79 a share due to his stunning recent form. As long as he remains a first-team regular for Mourinho, he is still worth investing in.

4. MAX KRUSE (WERDER BREMEN)

After being named in WhoScored’s Bundesliga Team of 2017, Max Kruse’s Football Index share price has rocketed 13.67% in the last 24 hours. The Werder Bremen striker is perhaps one of the most underrated goalscorers on the continent and at £0.57 represents a bargain even after the increase.

In fact, only Robert Lewandowski (33), Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (28) and Timo Werner (20) scored more Bundesliga goals than Kruse (17) last year and he prove a shrewd investment ahead of the league’s return.

Despite struggling at the start of the season, the 29-year-old has played a direct hand in seven goals in his last five league matches and will be looking to carry that form on when the winter break comes to an end.

5. BERNARD TEKPETEY (SCHALKE)

Bernard Tekpetey has returned to Schalke from his loan spell with Austrian side Altach and that has triggered a 13.66% increase in share price on Football INDEX in the last 24 hours.

The 20-year-old has been training with the rest of his Schalke teammates during the winter break and will look to break into the first-team when competitive action commences again.

Tekpetey failed to really impress in Austria and it’s unlikely he will usurp Guido Burgstaller in the pecking order for Schalke right away. He may only cost £0.34 a share at the moment, but it’s not a trend you should be paying much attention to.
