AC Milan were unbeaten in league action in February and Gianluigi Donnarumma played a huge part in that. The 20-year-old goalkeeper kept two clean sheets in four matches and was the WhoScored Man of the Match in a 1-1 draw away to Roma.

Left-back: Maximilian Mittelstadt (Hertha Berlin) – 7.17 rating

Football INDEX share price - £0.81

Hertha Berlin picked up four points from four league matches in the month of February but ran Bayern Munich and Wolfsburg close in 1-0 defeats. Maximilian Mittelstadt impressed for the German outfit, making 25 tackles and interceptions combined over four appearances.

Centre-back: Boubacar Kamara (Marseille) – 7.49 rating

Football INDEX share price - £1.59

Boubacar Kamara’s WhoScored rating only dipped below 7.00 in just one of his five league appearances last month. The 19-year-old centre-back even netted his first goal of the season in a 1-0 win over Bordeaux in that time. Kamara also made 27 tackles and interceptions combined.

Right-back: Sofiane Alakouch (Nimes) – 7.23 rating

Football INDEX share price - £1.02

Sofiane Alakouch’s fine start to the year continued into February, as the 20-year-old earns a spot in our best rated XI at right-back. His month ended in disappointment in defeat to Paris Saint-Germain but he impressively weighed in with 27 tackles and interceptions combined in just three league appearances.

Left midfield: Jadon Sancho (Borussia Dortmund) – 7.97 rating

Football INDEX share price – £15.18

Even though Borussia Dortmund look to have blown it in the league, Jadon Sancho is still operating at an incredibly high level at the age of just 18. Sancho won the WhoScored Man of the Match award against Hoffenheim and Bayern Leverkusen last month, returning two goals and on assist in those games.

Centre-midfield: Sean Longstaff (Newcastle) – 7.29 rating

Football INDEX share price – £2.75

Sean Longstaff said he wanted to impress Rafa Benitez when given the chance and the 21-year-old has done exactly that since the turn of the year. Longstaff has cemented himself as a guaranteed starter in central midfield and there is even chatter of a England call-up in the future. Longstaff netted his first senior goal last month in a 2-0 win over Burnley, while also making 11 tackles over four appearances.

Right midfield: Christopher Nkunku (Paris Saint-Germain) – 8.19 rating

Striker: Kylian Mbappe (Paris Saint-Germain) – 7.48 rating

PSG have barely felt the absence of Neymar due to the performances of Kylian Mbappe. The 20-year-old now has 24 goals in 21 league appearances this season after netting four goals in February. Mbappe scored in his last three league appearances last month to help PSG establish a 17-point lead at the top of Ligue 1.
