2023/24 Season Roundup 

Despite an eight-point deduction, Everton finished well clear of the relegation zone, ending the campaign 14 points above 18th-placed Luton. The Toffees boasted the fourth best defensive record in the division with their goal issues almost proving to be their downfall. Strike the right balance, and Everton should again finish well clear of the dropzone. 

Key Player - James Tarkowski 

While not the most glamourous centre-back in the Premier League, James Tarkowski is a consistent performer at the back for the Toffees. Indeed, he earned a better WhoScored rating (7.08) than any other Everton player as he won more aerial duels (145) than any other player, and made the second most clearances (186) in the division. 

Signing to Watch - Iliman Ndiaye 

Iliman Ndiaye found playing time difficult to come by for Marseille last season as he started just 17 league matches for the French side but if he can return to the form that attracted the French side in the first place, then Everton have a handy forward option on the books. The Senegal international finished the 2022/23 Championship campaign with double figures for both goals (14) and assists (10) and the Merseyside outfit are hoping he can recapture that form.

The departure of Amadou Onana is a huge blow for Everton. They had expected the Belgian to move on this summer yet Onana's exit leaves a big hole in the middle of the park. Nevertheless, they have sought to rectify their goal issues with the signing of Iliman Ndiaye and he'll look to make an immediate impact at Goodison Park.
