Liverpool vs Man City Confirmed XIs: Ederson dropped for City, Gakpo leads Reds charge
Liverpool and Manchester City round off the weekend’s action as the pair lock horns in a huge game at Anfield today. Liverpool have the chance to go 11 points clear of City in the Premier League if they are able to maintain their fine form and secure all the spoils against the defending champions today.
City come into this one on a six-game winless run, losing five times in that period, and it’ll take a monumental effort for the Cityzens to get back to winning ways at Liverpool this afternoon.
The XIs have been confirmed and we look at the changes made for both teams.
Joe Gomez comes in for the injured Ibrahima Konate at the heart of the defence, while Dominik Szoboszlai starts in the number 10 role. Cody Gakpo has also been given the nod to lead the charge for the Reds with Darwin Nunez on the bench.
Ederson has been dropped by Manchester City and unsurprisingly so, with the Brazilian the worst rated goalkeeper in the Premier League this season. Nathan Ake also starts at left-back in place of Josko Gvardiol, while Phil Foden features from the outset.
