Brits Abroad: Bellingham celebrates title triumph as Bynoe-Gittens deputises for Sancho

 

Jude Bellingham lifted the La Liga title on Saturday night after Real Madrid's 3-0 win over Cadiz, while Harry Kane and Eric Dier could only watch on as Bayern Munich succumbed to a 3-1 loss at VfB Stuttgart. 

 

Elsewhere, Chuba Akpom and Jordan Henderson impressed in Ajax's big win at doomed Volendam, Angel Gomes and Ainsley Maitland-Niles played their part in a seven-goal thriller in France and Lewis Morgan featured in Lionel Messi's record breaking MLS night as Brits Abroad rounds up the performances of those across the world. 

 

Harry Kane - Bayern Munich 

 

Harry Kane bagged his 36th league goal of the season at VfB Stuttgart at the weekend but his goal was in vain as Bayern Munich crashed to a 3-1 loss. Hardly ideal prep for their Champions League trip to Real Madrid on the horizon. Kane struck with one of four shots at the MHPArena and completed three dribbles in the defeat. 

 

Eric Dier - Bayern Munich 

 

Remaining at the MHPArena, Eric Dier was forced off at the break in the loss following a nasty head injury that means he is a doubt for Wednesday's game in Madrid. Prior to his withdrawal, Dier returned a 100% pass success rate and made one clearance off the line to return a WhoScored rating of 6.70. 

 

Jamie Bynoe-Gittens - Borussia Dortmund 

 

While Jadon Sancho was rested with an eye on Tuesday's trip to Paris, Jamie Bynoe-Gittens put in a solid showing as Borussia Dortmund smashed Augsburg 5-1. Bynoe-Gittens provided the assist for Donyell Malen's first and Dortmund's second on Saturday, that coming from one of three key passes, while three tackles and two dribbles saw the teenager return a WhoScored rating of 8.05. 

 

Jude Bellingham - Real Madrid 

 

Having replaced Arda Guler midway through the second half, Jude Bellingham netted his 18th league goal of the season two minutes after his introduction to double Real Madrid's advantage against Cadiz. Bellingham also made two key passes and two tackles in a solid cameo on home turf. 

 

Josh Doig - Sassuolo 

 

Sassuolo boosted their survival hopes with a fine 1-0 win over champions Inter. Josh Doig was key in the victory having provided the assist for Armand Lauriente first half winner from his only key pass. Doig also made three clearances in a clean-sheet attaining display. 

 

Fikayo Tomori - AC Milan 

 

AC Milan and Genoa played out the game of the weekend in Serie A as the pair shared the spoils in an entertaining 3-3 draw. Fikayo Tomori did all he could to protect the AC Milan goal as he made three tackles, three clearances and won three aerial duels. 

 

Djed Spence - Genoa 

 

Remaining in Milan, Djed Spence was solid at right wing-back for Genoa at San Siro as he made three tackles, two clearances and one interception. While he contributed little in attack, Spence was still key in claiming a result. 

 

Tammy Abraham - Roma 

 

Tammy Abraham replaced Romelu Lukaku midway through the second half of Roma's 1-1 draw with Juventus but failed to impress in the stalemate. Indeed, he committed as many fouls as he managed shots (1) to land a WhoScored rating of just 6.16. 

 

Angel Gomes - Lille 

 

Lille and Lyon played out a seven-goal thriller on Monday night, though Les Dogues conceded twice late on to lose 4-3. Angel Gomes registered his seventh assist of the season in the home defeat, that coming from his only key pass, and despite ending up on the losing side, the midfielder managed a WhoScored rating of 7.06. 

 

Ainsley Maitland-Niles - Lyon 

 

Having come on at the break in Lyon's 4-3 win at Lille, Ainsley Maitland-Niles was instrumental as Pierre Sage's side came away from the Stade Pierre-Mauroy with all the spoils. The versatile defender provided the assist for Alexandre Lacazette's late equaliser with his only key pass and made two clearances and one tackle.

Chuba Akpom started on the right in Ajax's 4-1 win at FC Volendam on Sunday and was directly involved in two of four goals. Indeed, Akpom struck with one of three shots and provided one assist with one of three key passes to land a WhoScored rating of 8.62. 

 

Jordan Henderson - Ajax 

 

Jordan Henderson registered his third Eredivisie assist of the season at FC Volendam on Sunday, that coming from one of four key passes. Henderson also found a teammate with 88.5% of his 78 passes, making six accurate long balls in the process, in a solid showing. 

 

Jonjo Shelvey - Rizespor 

 

While Rizespor fell to a 3-2 loss at Besiktas on Saturday, Jonjo Shelvey was on hand to register his sixth league assist of the season. That assist came from one of four key passes, while Shelvey also made one interception in Istanbul. 

 

Lewis Morgan - NYRB 

 

NYRB were torn to shreds at Inter Miami over the weekend as they fell to a 6-2 loss in Miami. Lewis Morgan endured a subdued display, mustering two shots and one dribble. The Scot was dispossessed twice to return a WhoScored rating of just 6.21 

 

Matty Longstaff - Toronto FC 

 

Matty Longstaff scored his first MLS goal of the season as he came off the bench to net in a 3-1 win over FC Dallas. The midfielder found the net with his only effort and won one aerial duel on his way to a WhoScored rating of 7.06. 

 

Ryan Gauld - Vancouver Whitecaps

 

While Vancouver Whitecaps were held to a 0-0 draw by Austin FC but Ryan Gauld did all he could to break the deadlock for his side over the weekend. Gauld managed eight shots and four key passes to land a WhoScored rating of 7.29.
