Route to the Final
Manchester United had a relatively straightforward start to the FA Cup this year. Erik ten Hag's side got the better of lower league opposition Wigan and Notts County, though they did endure a minor scare against the latter, before edging past Nottingham Forest in late February. United then played out back-to-back game of the season contenders having beaten rivals Liverpool 4-3 late on at Old Trafford before beating Championship side Coventry on penalties in their semi-final last month.
Huddersfield were the only lower league opposition Mancheser City faced on their way to the final, and they made light work of the Terriers, easing to a 5-0 win at the Etihad Stadium. Pep Guardiola's side then defeated Tottenham, Luton, Newcastle and Chelsea to book a place at Wembley on Saturday. City have kept four clean sheets in their five games, with Jordan Clark the only player to score against the champions in the competition this season.
Team News
Ederson was not expected to play at Wembley this weekend and the Brazilian is the only player missing for Manchester City as they gear up to take on rivals Manchester United. Stefan Ortega would have started regardless with the 31-year-old a more-than-capable stand in.
United's injury issues have eased considerably of late. Erik ten Hag has conirmed that Mason Mount, Anthony Martial and Victor Lindelof are fit to feature on Saturday. However, Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia and Harry Maguire will sit out the trip to Wembley. Lisandro Martinez's return to the starting XI following injury coincided with a clean-sheet win at Brighton on the final day and the Argentine's return to fitness is a huge boost.
Probable XIs
Man City (4231) - Ortega; Walker, Akanji, Dias, Gvardiol; Rodri, Kovacic; Silva, De Bruyne, Foden; Haaland
Man Utd (4231) - Onana; Wan-Bissaka, Varane, Martinez, Dalot; Casemiro, Mainoo; Amad, Fernandes, Garnacho; Hojlund
Phil Foden was Manchester City's hero on the final day of the season. The England international quickly settled nerves last weekend in the eventual 3-1 win over West Ham, a game in which he claimed his 10th WhoScored Player of the Match award of the season. The 23-year-old saw out the season with 19 goals and eight assists to his name, with six of his 19 league strikes coming from outside the box, more than any other player in England's top tier.
SkyBet are looking to capitalise on Foden's penchant for netting from distance. Indeed, they have boosted the youngster's price to score from outside the box inside 90 minutes from 8/1 to 11/1.
