Burnley News: Scott Parker 75% likely to become the club's next manager
Scott Parker is a short priced favourite to become the next Burnley manager.
Former Bournemouth and Fulham manager Scott Parker is being heavily backed to become the next manager of Burnley following the departure of Vincent Kompany at the end of May.
Parker is no stranger to Championship success having gained promotion via the playoffs when managing Fulham in the 2019/20 season and now eyes a return to the scene of that triumph.
A return to English football might be just what that the 43-year-old needs following an unsuccessful stint at Belgium side Club Brugge where he was sacked after just 12 games in charge.
The Englishman is a strong favourite to take the reins at Burnley with a best price of 4/7 on William Hill. He can be found for a shortest price of 1/3 (an implied chance of 75%).
Next Burnley Manager Odds
Scott Parker is the odds on favourite in the latest next Burnley manager odds, but there are a queue of familiar faces waiting in the wings should the Turf Moor hierarchy look elsewhere.
Liam Rosenior is the second favourite at a best price of 4/1 on BetVictor (20% implied chance). Rosenior was sacked by Hull at the end of the season despite only missing out on the Championship playoffs by just three points in seventh place.
Hull’s loss might be others' gain, however, as plenty of potential suitors have shown interest in the 39-year-old up and coming manager including Sunderland, Plymouth and now Burnley.
Looking beyond Rosenior and Parker is a name many might not have expected to see in Frank Lampard. The former Chelsea manager and player remains in the running at 7/1 on Sky Bet despite drifting from a shortest 1/2 price on 31st May.
Lampard’s managerial career has been mixed so far, but it has not been without some notable accomplishments. For example, he took Derby to the Championship playoff finals in his first year as a manager and achieved a fourth-place finish in his first season at Chelsea.
With Premier League experience and Championship success under his belt, the Burnley board might just see him as a plausible candidate for the job.
