Gundogan proving his worth as Man City star shoots up form rankings

Manchester City are the dominant side in the WhoScored Premier League form rankings as Pep Guardiola's team maintain their unstoppable march towards domestic glory. Liverpool, Manchester United, Newcastle, Leicester and Everton are also represented in the top 10. 

10. Bruno Guimaraes (Newcastle) - 7.45 

After a slight wobble, Newcastle got their top-four pursuit back on track on Thursday night as they smashed top-six chasing Brighton 4-1 at St. James' Park. Bruno Guimaraes was among the goals in the victory and it means he has been directly involved in two goals in his last six league outings. With his second best rated display of the campaign coming against the Seagulls, the Brazilian rises up to 10th in the form rankings. 

9. James Maddison (Leicester) - 7.56 

While Leicester look destined for the drop, James Maddison is one who'll likely be plying his trade in the Premier League next season. That said, a sub-par display in the Foxes' 3-0 loss to Liverpool on Monday night means he drops down the form standings to ninth. He'll do all he can to ensure Leicester avoid relegation, but it may well be too little, too late for Dean Smith's side as they gear up for Monday's meeting with Newcastle. 

8. Riyad Mahrez (Manchester City) - 7.60 

The first of three Manchester City players to make the top 10, Riyad Mahrez has been in excellent form in City's quest for the title. Indeed, the Algerian wing-wizard has provided five assists in his last four league appearances for Pep Guardiola's side, and that has helped return a WhoScored form rating of 7.60. 

7. Eberechi Eze (Crystal Palace) - 7.63 

Another riser on the form leaderboard, Michael Olise enjoyed a bright start to life under Roy Hodgson, but it's Eberechi Eze who is the Crystal Palace representative here. Eze has scored 10 league goals this season, five of which have come in his last six outings with the Eagles star finding the back of the net in recent wins over Southampton, West Ham and Bournemouth to contribute towards a form rating of 7.63. 

6. Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) - 7.69 

A hat-trick of assists in Liverpool's 3-0 win at Leicester saw Mohamed Salah become the second player to register double figures for both goals (19) and assists (10) in the Premier League this season. The Egyptian winger has been ruthless in recent weeks, netting four and providing three assists in his last six league outings to continue the Reds' push for a Champions League finish. 

5. Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool) - 7.71 

Pipping teammate Salah to a spot in the top-five, Trent Alexander-Arnold maintained his end of season flourish with a goal in Liverpool's 3-0 win at Leicester on Monday night. That strike means Alexander-Arnold has been directly involved in 10 league goals this term, four of which have come in his last six top-flight appearances, and his WhoScored form rating of 7.71 is the fifth best as a result. 

4. Erling Haaland (Manchester City) - 7.72 

Erling Haaland's goal against Everton means he has hit the back of the net 36 times in the Premier League this season, the same number as Sunday's opponents Chelsea. The Manchester City goal machine has now been directly involved in eight goals in his last six league outings, netting six times, as this unstoppable City side march towards the title. 

3. Bruno Fernandes (Manchester United) - 7.81 

Following a dip in form, Bruno Fernandes is ending the campaign strongly having been directly involved in a goal in three of his last five appearances. Manchester United will need the Portuguese star to be at his best in the final three games of the campaign as Erik ten Hag's side look to wrap up a Champions League finish, and with a WhoScored form rating of 7.81, Fernandes is certainly seeing out the season on a high. 

2. Ilkay Gundogan (Manchester City) - 7.88 

Surging into second is perhaps Manchester City's most important player in their Premier League title quest. Ilkay Gundogan has been coming in clutch in recent weeks for the Cityzens with four goals and one assist in his last two Premier League appearances. Indeed, his two best rated outings this season came in recent wins over Leeds (8.45) and Everton (9.14) and that has helped earn a WhoScored form rating of 7.88. 

1. Dwight McNeil (Everton) - 7.97 

Sean Dyche will have needed his squad pulling in the right direction as they look to beat the drop, and Dwight McNeil is certainly playing his part for Everton. McNeil currently tops the WhoScored form rankings with a rating of 7.97 having scored four and provided one assist in his last six league appearances, which includes a perfect 10 rated display in the Toffees surprise 5-1 win at Brighton earlier this month.
