Youth Watch: PSG passmaster among Europe's top performing teens

 

Bayern, PSG and Fiorentina are among the sides represented in the 10 best performing teens from across Europe over the weekend as Youth Watch returns to assess the youngsters to thrive. 

 

10. Warren Zaire-Emery (PSG) - 7.03 vs Lyon 

 

As PSG eased to a 4-1 win over Lyon, teenage sensation Warren Zaire-Emery put in an accomplished display in the middle of the park, returning a WhoScored rating of 7.03 in the process. The 18-year-old found a teammate with 96.7% of his 61 passes as he dictated the tempo. 

 

9. Sadibou Sane (Metz) - 7.04 vs Le Havre 

 

Sadibou Sane was solid at the heart of the defence as Metz claimed a huge 1-0 win at Le Havre over the weekend. On just his sixth league start of the campaign, Sane made nine clearances in a clean sheet attaining display. 

 

8. Juan Herzog (Las Palmas) - 7.14 vs Celta Vigo 

 

Juan Herzog may have been part of a defence that shipped four at the weekend but the Las Palmas defender managed to score his second league goal of the season in a 4-1 defeat. Herzog also made a last man tackle in the loss, which helped boost his rating. 

 

7. Papa Diallo (Metz) - 7.14 vs Le Havre 

 

Back to Metz's win at Le Havre, and Papa Diallo was solid on the left in the narrow victory as he won five aerial duels and made three clearances and two tackles. The 19-year-old was unfortunate not to add an assist having made two key passes at Stade Océane. 

 

6. Aleksandar Pavlovic (Bayern Munich) - 7.26 vs Union Berlin 

 

While the likes of Harry Kane and Leon Goretzka earned the plaudits in Bayern's 5-1 win at Union Berlin, Aleksandar Pavlovic put in another showing that belied his tender years on Saturday. Indeed, he was solid in possession, finding a teammate with 97.7% of his 87 attempted passes and making four clearances and two tackles. 

 

5. Dario Essugo (Chaves) - 7.28 vs Estoril 

 

Dario Essugo makes the cut in the top 10 once more following another battling display in Chaves' drama-filled draw with Estoril. Essugo was solid off the ball as he made three tackles, three interceptions and two clearances to help return a WhoScored rating of 7.28. 

 

4. Michael Kayode (Fiorentina) - 7.36 vs Salernitana 

 

Michael Kayode put in another sound performance as the young right-back shone in Fiorentina's 2-0 win at Salernitana over the weekend. The 19-year-old made three tackles and completed two dribbles at the Arechi and returned a 94.7% pass success rate from 75 passes.

3. Desire Doue (Rennes) - 8.27 vs Nantes 

 

As Rennes smashed Nantes in the Derby Breton, Desire Doue excelled once more. Doue registered his fourth league assist of the season in the 3-0 win, that coming from his only key pass, and drove forward well as he completed seven dribbles to land a WhoScored rating of 8.27. 

 

2. Patrick Dorgu (Lecce) - 8.47 vs Sassuolo 

 

Lecce opened up a six-point gap between themselves and the relegation zone as they beat Sassuolo 3-0 on Sunday. Patrick Dorgu shone in the game, as evidenced by a WhoScored rating of 8.47, as he netted Lecce's second from one of three shots. Two dribbles and two key passes contributed to a fine showing from the Dane. 

 

1. Mathys Tel (Bayern Munich) - 8.71 vs Union Berlin 

 

Back to Berlin now, and Bayern star Mathys Tel is the best rated teenager from European action over the weekend. Tel returned a WhoScored rating of 8.71 having provided the assist for Leon Goretzka's opener before getting on the scoresheet himself, those coming from respective returns of three key passes and two shots.
